I just replaced the alternator on my 2008 F-150 with a 4.6L engine. You definitely need the cheater bar to remove the serpentine belt. With my engine, I was able to skip removing the upper radiator hose. Everything else went smooth thanks to your video. Thank you.

Helped a lot, I removed air filter box instead of radiator hose. Took one hour beginning to end

Joseph, This is the best place to mount the Alternator on the Engine, easy to access. I appreciate the comment! - Stiles

Yep, I should probably apologize to Mother Nature. I'm careful with other Fluids, but normally just take that Top Radiator Hose off and let the little bit of Coolant run on the engine and catch some of it in a pan. It's water soluble and washes down easy. Thanks for the comment! - Stiles

If you do not want to mess with the coolant, remove the 4 10mm bolts on the duct and you will have a lot of room to work.

Clifford, Yep, great tip, Thanks! You mean the Air Inlet Horn/Tube. Yes easy to remove! And it is easy to remove the Upper Radiator Hose, but you do lose a little coolant. Not much, but a little. Don't do it when the Truck is Hot! - Stiles
