Hope you got warranty on the previous two alternators David. Great job explaining what to check and how to replace a vital component. Not only is it cheaper to fix your own rig but you don't have to drop off your HOME with someone else for a day or so. Thanks for sharing!

I try to always buy at Autozone or O'Reilly because they have a lifetime warranty. Really a loosing deal for them since we keep our rigs forever. But they run great and for the little bit of maintenance we do it isn't bad for almost 4 years of full timing. Thanks for watching.

We have a 97 holiday rambler endeavor rv 35 foot 7.5l on f53 and we are currently having alternator issue. I finally figured out how to order a part but I wanted to ask what are those two black boxes looking things just behind that metal flap with hoses coming up from it? Between the flap and the alternator. I’m asking because one of ours has a broken hose Android I have no clue what those are for.

Your Ford dealer should be able to tell you for sure but I'm guessing it is used to recirculate exhaust gases in the engine or something used with emissions. I have not dealt with it and I usually have issues with my vacuum lines breaking. In that case I get a small rubber hose and splice the line together. You might be able to do something like that to connect the broken hose also. Thanks for watching and hope that helps.

@@TignerAdventures thank you we finally got it fixed pretty easily. For anyone needing to know it is indeed found under a f53 chassis just like that man said lol

I have the same model and year motorhome as you (with the 7.5) and I randomly lost my engine ac/heat fan blower, electronic steps, rear taillights. I cannot figure out what caused all these things to loose power. I checked fuses with no luck. Did this ever happen to you? anythings you'd suggest checking? Thank you

Interesting. I have issues with my steps when I am in moist areas. I have traced my wires and found several splices. My guess is you may have the same issues. The problem is so many people that work on the rigs like to jury rig things. My dad was a mechanic and he said the worst issues were always related to electrical problems. So many possibilities of a mess. Sorry you are having issues and hope you figure it out. I use my multi meter and just trace each wire which takes time.
