The biggest open secret of clarinet playing: the altissimo register is where one really learns how to play the whole instrument well.

I'm glad you explained the differences you experience between the short and long high F fingerings. I play horn now, but long F was my go-to when I was playing a lot of clarinet decades ago. As a ww doubler in pit orchestras, I needed consistent response more than nuances of timbre. The principal clarinet in my current community orchestra recently had a solo and kept cracking high F's using the short fingering...I wanted so badly to ask why he wasn't using the alternative!

Great video! Altissimo is what I struggle with the most, especially when there are altissimo notes right at the start of a piece. Do you have any tips for creating a fuller, warmer sound in the altissimo register? I'm definitely joining your patreon soon!

Hello! Engaging the corners and top lip of the embouchure was a game changer for me!

Thank you, working on altissimo for tenor sax at the moment so I’ll be back to this video soon. Any tips for improving to b flat b transition and c to g sharp? The break!

The F# is hard to get it resonant, only with the banana key fingering

Where are these exercises from? They smell like Klose but I don't seem them in either edition that I have.
