The olden times', CFC-run refrigerators couldn't be kept open for long lest the cooling gas escapes, hence the whole "don't keep the door open" thing...which leads to the yelling thing.
@mspeir
@mspeir 7 жыл бұрын
CFC-based refrigerant requires the same type of system as currently used in "modern" refrigerators. The system is sealed. There may have been a time where the efficiency of a refrigerator required a substantial amount of time to recover after being left open, and even now it is terribly energy inefficient, but no gases escape.

Alton I really hope you keep making youtube videos and putting them up. My life just isn't the same without Good Eats. I'm kind of a science guy, and the "artsy" spin the rest of the presenters on Food Network or whatever just doesn't do it for me. "Do this" just isn't quite the same as your formula of, "Do this, and here's why, and here's why that is the way it is."

Brilliant fix for a long time problem! I always tipped bottles upside down as I went because I knew that I would have to shake the stuff to the cap each time I grabbed it. But they tipped over often unless they had something to be propped up against because the cap side is almost always smaller than the base.

@WHEREISTHEREASON

+Christian Gerefalk The manufacturer of mustard could likely care less about your ability to get that last bit of mustard out of the bottle. In fact it is in their interest to have you buy a new bottle of mustard all the sooner and throw that difficult last bit out . Remember these are the same people (marketers) who doubled the use of shampoo by including the word "repeat" in their directions for use. An age-old axiom among marketers/advertisers is long been" if you can't sell the product, sell the package." to this end manufacturers have made packages more user friendly. Sadly this has yet to spread to the makers of mustard.
@Dracounius
@Dracounius 8 жыл бұрын
