YMMV, but after decades of laces loosening and needing to be retied, I learned that just one simple change would solve the problem... I switched which lace goes on top when starting, and the bow tie ended up perfectly straight from side to side (which is the key), rather than at an angle. That's it... no more laces ever untying themselves. It was awkward to relearn, but worth it.

5:20 That is the reason though they come loose easier because they go very tight to your foot and when the foot is moving a lot they tend to come a bit loose. I have the altra escalante and i always make a double nod which totally prevents the problem of becoming loose while still maintaining this thight fit.

I never had any laces comming loose on my Vanish Carbon. But I recently saw a video explaining that there are two 'normal' ways to tie laces and one of them is not so good. I apparently used the correct one. I really like them btw

I am curious if the issue with the places you had lace pressure has to do with the width of the shoe. The mens are going to be around a D while a women’s would be around a B.

It wasn’t so much fit of the shoe as it was the tongue has zero padding. It wasn’t really that bad. The laces coming untied multiple times is a major knock though. There is some redeeming value to them of course.

That's the theory. In practice, both versions are identical (exactly the same width od the outsole and the upper when you put one M against the other W in the same size).
