that sounds good..when u work in the city its different obviously. becos public transpot just takes so long and if u have the money to own a car then u will use it. here in auckland its the same story. everyone takes their own car. when ur lining up on the mway and u look out almost every car has only one or two ppl. car pooling is common but not very effective. we have a family of 3 ppl and we own 4 cars. its a first world problem. if i lived closer to my campus then i would surely bike there

In Holland, where I live, we're used to go to school on our bikes.... funny how it is kinda unusual in america :)

Can you imagine your self. One day you outside getting your mail or something and you saw your favorite actress Stana Katic riding her bike. Around the neighborhood with all the camera's around her... And your reaction is like OH my gosh.. I didn't know that she lives in my neighborhood.. hahahahahahaha.. What a good morning for that shocking surprising..... I always want to walk to school from my house or ride my bike. And i haven done it yet:(:(...

i would happily ride my bike to school each day; if i wasn't carrying about 3 kilos worth of school books each way (it is like a 2.5km trip up 4 BIG hills). so i will stick to the bus and walking route i have done for the last 5 years.

I don't live in a flat area; plus I live 10 km away on a highway from town. I've been thinking recently though of doing day trips,say, once a week for fun in town on my bike on my summer vacation. YES, there are hills that are pretty much 45 to 60 degrees-no joke. But I tried it once recently and it was actually quite fun! It's most certainly better than being a couch potato all summer. :)

I love being at college because it's INCONVENIENT to drive places. The only good way to get around is to walk. and we have a HILLY campus - I'm working my muscles every day. I love each moment of it!

I would love to bike to school! But I think I would fall considering all I have to do is going downstairs. (I'm home schooled.)

I'm from Argentina, I was going to school in the first 2 bike (located to 700mts and 1.2 km) but the increasing crime rate, already did not, it was stolen 2 times and one of them with a knife my neck. In the other two schools I attended were more distant and always transported by bus. Already in the community college, my only means of travel were bus and subway. All Time for economic reasons and not having car. [Sorry for the bad translation, I do not speak much English]

I've had a similar situation for the past 3 years. Guess what? Unless there was a f*cking storm or 20 cm of snow, I rode my bike to school. Just look at "the bigger picture", and compare your situation with, f.ex. an army guy. Now, I know that he's got far better health than either of us, but he still has to walk 20 kilometers with a 40 kilo backpack, in god damn boots..
