It doesn’t matter if the sun flowers are placed in the back or not in PVZ1 because the game is very easy. You’re doing fine enough. A strat is to place sun plants 1 or 2 columns up and place shooters behind them to use the sun plants as a small wall if they get close. You’re always going to have offense in the back and you can always replace your sun producers, or keep digging up and replanting until you have a massive army for that level. I play a lot of PVZ2 mods & that’s the strategy for almost every level. You should play the PVZ2: Eclise Mod if you want to be a big PVZ pro :)

The Pokemon Ability Bulletproof makes the pokemon immune to all bullet like attacks, including bullet seed. So, the plants are literally useless against the Chespin line, Jangmo-o line, and Wooloo line. Cherry Bomb does work against the Bulletproof mons either because Seed Bomb is one of the immune moves. Chili Pepper is negated by Flashfire, which makes this pokemon *absorb* fire moves. If the flashfire mons were just immune, then there can be a case, but since they absorb the flames they can just switch out, the bulletproof mons charge forward, and switch out when a chili pepper shows up. finally, the concept of type advantages. Flying Types ruin this fight. the only counters to flying types are the catapults and fans. According to Pidgeots Silver pokedex entry, it can fly at Mach 2 speeds. Which very likely negate the fans. Pigeots Black and White dex entry states it can make a gust of wind, able to bend tall trees. Pidgeots Gold entry states it can whip up gusts in just a few flaps. Therefore, just Pidgeot can very quickly uproot a row of plants very quickly. I find it very very likely that just Pigeot, Every Bullet Proof, and Flash Fire Mon is all it would take to get through 1 billion plants.

Sunflowers are not optimal in the last lane because they don't do damage and are cheap. You want your most powerful plants in the back where they can do the most damage and have more time while the zombies eat the sunflowers. And since they are so cheap they are easy to replace, since they also of short cool down. Depending on your load out put suflowers as far up as you can but still behind your defense and shorter range attack plants.

It depends what plants it is against the Pokemon. Cause if it's all Jalapenos and/or Chompers, then the plants win. But if it's just Torchwood, Lily Pads, Pots, Sun Shrooms, and/or Sunflowers, then the Pokemon would win. And if it's just Peashooters, Cabbage Pults, Melon pults, Threepeaters, and/or Repeaters, then any Pokemon with Sap Sipper could decimate them. There are too many factors to accurately determine the answer
