a 43 foot boat with a Workshop, Shaft drive, Aft facing Fridges, a Lifting Keel, and a Sink I want in my House. Well done Ovni. Thank you for not letting the rain stop you from doing a nice tour of an interesting boat. You find some interesting boats, keep it up.

Loved the position of the fridge/freezer. Brilliant! And so much storage. A very well thought out cruisers boat. You can certainly tell it's designed by people with years of experience in sailing and doing expeditions. I've always thought an outboard mount on the stern is a great idea. Nice to have a backup 'kicker' as we call them in Alaska. I also like the idea of having the salon down at floor level instead of being raised. I rough weather, you'd get a better ride when you're down low in the boat. One can still see outside just by standing up. Not sure about the hatches on the stern though. Would rather they were made out of aluminium instead of acrylic (or whatever). I know the design is to allow more light but a simple light in that area would suffice. I enjoy your reviews. They're thorough and well thought-out and I can tell you have some good sailing experience behind you. Cheers and keep up the good work!

Thank you for watching, I am in agreement with you about the after hatches, I would worry with big sea’s water might get in so aluminum would be a better option. The one level raised salon and galley are the bit selling point for this boat. As you say you are low enough for a more comfortable ride but raised up enough to poke your head up and have a good look around.

Same here for the hatches - as I thought to myself I would prefer something more "industrial" looking there - a thick plate with some very rugged clamps, easily replaceable, commercially available sealing and two inches of heat insulation inside. Same with the saloon windows - I know it's extra weight but I would prefer very thick "bullet-proof" glass windows. One of those breaks in foul weather and the boat is going down.

Incredible boat with a lot of well thought design elements. I do think the raised saloon can be really helpful for warding off seasickness with passive crew, but the single level layout is brilliant.

Hello, love you boat tours. They tend to be about the boats that we are interested in. Maybe because our current boat doesn't have a lot of storage, but what I like to see in a tour is how much space you have to bring what you need to be away from civilisation for extended periods of time. You actually open most drawers which is great but I always like to see what is going on under the floor boards of the galley as it can be a great space to store canned or dry goods. The space under the beds would have been great to see as well as the drawers under the master cabin bed. Are they a foot deep or 3 feet deep? I think that generator is 11000 watts not 1100, probably to generate enough energy to replenish the batteries used for the ocean volt hybrid system. So more info on that out of the ordinary drive system would have been great. I also didn't get a sense of the space you have sitting into the sheltered space of the cockpit. I think you missed that area when you did the tour. I don't comment on videos very often but as I said, I do enjoy your boat tours. It's always easier to critique after the fact but I know I wouldn't do half as good of you job as you do. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to watch and comment, Half of the time when I do these tours I am limited on time which is a pain or the sales guys tell us not to open too much stuff as the boat owners have their personal stuff on board, and I totally respect or try to respect their privacy but it can be a little frustrating. We will be doing a factory tour this year so will get a really good look around these sailboats inside and out for you guys and I have an Interview coming up with the Ocean Volt guys as well so keep an eye out for that video, so hopefully that will answer some of those questions for you.

Hi! WOW, what a sink! I'd love to have one of those at home, imagine in a boat! Well laid out boat, looks comfortable, have spaces make with thought, it shows. Seems an interesting option for a "Garcia on a budget". I Agree 100% with you on the genoa rails. It must be a smaaaaaal one :) For a sailing couple a self tacking would be interesting, don't know if they offer one as an option. If you can always give us an idea of the boat's proce range, it'd be great. We understand it varies due to options so just an idea seems a good idea :) Oh, a video or two on new electric systems would be great. This area is evolving quickly and with Dusseldorf a week or so away, you can put some light on the curiosity of many, for sure. How much solar is enough (if ever), how amp hungry is an electric oven, how much lithium one need to forget about energy saving and, today's mystery: how are electric engines doing? All the best, my dear! See you on the next one and send my regards home!

Nice layout below, a nice to see a workshop is becoming acceptable, and the Outboard mount I agree is a great idea. As for sailplan I’ve become a big fan of KISS. Principles and for the Tropics in Mast Furling now appears to be essential,as Solar Emissions Damaged Ozone Layer is letting in a Lot more UV- the Arctic Circle now has about 60% of its area having Dead Snow Algae, causing the effect known as Snow Bleeding or Watermelon Snow, and sadly the next stage I was waiting on has been confirmed as having started, with a Sailboat cruising the Greek islands in the Mediterranean, commented a couple of weeks before Christmas that they were seeing Purple Algae, so a lot more UV is getting through now at Med Latitude. The Cure for this is easy, but I’m not sure how fast an improvement can happen, as we appear to be doing all the wrong things. Our Atmosphere actually has a pretty Serious Shortage of CO2 Content and needs boosting much higher then with Plant Chlorophyll then producing a lot more Ozone, the needed repairs and reduction in UV getting through can get started. Net Zero needs to go, because that is likely to turn the shortage into a critical one. Sorry for the short soapbox, but we do need to change direction fast, and Have written the Paper for the UK Parliament Science and Technology Committee, that blew the blatant attempted Ocean Acidification Fraud off the Coral Reefs for them, which they asked for and got, my permission to Publish it. The data in that confirmed the Shortage, further supported since by Mars Atmosphere Research, which also points to CO2 in plentiful supply being far more important in Our Atmosphere, than even I had thought possible. With plenty of Plant Life working with it of course. Back to the Sailplane. I think self tacking jibs are a bit pointless tbh, as if tacking you tend to be in the Cockpit anyway, so for me, in mast furled Main, is my hove to Sail, keeping all forces at the Mast, Headsails I like are furling Genoa, Furling Reaching Code Zero, and a Furling Gannaker . But that’s just me. A Video on doing a Victron Setup would be great for Sailors New and old imho. Great boat tour ! Best Wishes . Bob. 🤔🌟🌟🌟👍❤️

I like your sail plan it makes sense, similar to what I would do except for in-mast furling I prefer a stack-pack but horses for courses I am sure when I am older I will change but for now well; I will be doing a lot of tech video's this year, especially on my Yachting-Insider channel so keep an eye out for that Bob.

@@SVTONICBoatWives Every boat I have had so far, has been Classic Mast and Boom, Lazy Jacks and Stack Packs, so it was a bit of a shock to discover that it had become a real nightmare, so did a really deep dive into in Mast Furling, and that really held some surprises, and did a lot of communicating with Sailmakers, to see if what I wanted for a Furling Mainsail Made Sense, plus whether any of them would make a Battenless Triradial Main. After finally getting positive answers, it dawned on me that the UV protection offered by an Aluminium Mast had become a pretty important factor as well, after seeing just how rapidly the Sail, lazy jacks and Stack pack cover could be totally wrecked by the UV. I’ll be really looking forward to the Tech Videos . Best Wishes, Fair Winds, and Safe Travels. Bob.👍🌟🌟🌟❤️⛵️

I love Alubat design and practicality BUT their prices have gone crazy. The Ovni 370 has increased by 79% in two years !! Madness, but seems to demonstrate that Alubat is pursuing an aggressive commercial strategy. The problem is that their boats will be (or perhaps already are) out of the reach of many potential customers.

I had no idea they have gone up that much, I do know the price of Aluminium has gone crazy here in France so that wouldn't help but most other shipyards have seen an increase of around 40% in the last two years.

It’s more a reflection on just how badly Debt based Fiat Currency Value and Purchasing Power is rapidly Collapsing World Wide sadly. We really are approaching one of those Weimar Republic type Hyper Inflation collapses, with the numbers on the bank notes failing to denote any value whatsoever. The number is so large on a Weimar Banknote I have in my collection that I forget just how many it was- something along the lines of 180 billion Marks, yet it wasn’t enough to buy a coffee or a loaf of bread. I got one to make sure that I never forget just how stupid and crooked the Central Banks are. Once we get back to Real Money again with Real Markets Sanity will return, and I don’t think we have very long to wait for that to happen now tbh, as the CBDC attempt will fail, as that is just more of the same, but worse. Things are about to get rather interesting imho. Best Wishes. Bob. PS side note - Real Money means that I finally get my Sailboat(s). 🤞🙂🌟🌟🌟🙂⛵️

Pricing is actually a measure of the extent that the Bankers and their Politician Puppets are Trashing the Purchasing Power of what is Fake Currency, and the speed at which they are Stealing Actual Wealth from us. Inflation is actually a Tax,and the 72 rule becomes extremely important to know about - as in divide the inflation percentage into 72, and you get the number of years it takes for prices to Double. The Central Bank Target of 2% for example, has prices doubling in 36 years.For Perspective, with Real Money, you do not get inflation, instead you get healthy mild Deflation, and a year on year increase in the Purchasing Power of our money. I was fortunate enough to live the First Twenty Years of my Life in a Society that had Real Money, and no inflation - That was £ Sterling Britain - Then Socialism and Fake Money, and we’ve been heading towards Hyperinflation - the way the bankers attempt to keep everything they’veStolen from us- and collapse, ever since. Post the Collapse Depression, the Bankers always permit only a partial Restoration of Purchasing Power, as they set the stage for yet another round of Thieving.Today, it looks as though BRICS is totally changing that, and the question for their planned “Unit” of Real Money is - Just How Big a Return to the Full Purchasing Power of Real Money, Can We expect to receive? Will Purchasing Power of Small amounts reach that of the Ancient Greeks and Republic Romans perhaps ? Once the Banker Crime Syndicate is Dealt with, the answer to that question is really important. Insight - after the end of the 19th century Long Depression, in the year 1908, a multi thousand sire had more purchasing power than a 1930’s Millionaire, who had more Purchasing Power than a post 2008 Crash Billionaire. Starting to see how restored Purchasing Power has only been Partially, for Centuries ? 🤔 Best Wishes.Bob./👍🌟🌟🌟❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧

Love that Sink in the Galley tbh. Question - How Reliable are Centreboard keels now ? I know they were always fine for Dinghies, but were strictly Taboo for anything bigger than a Dinghy, and literally nobody in the Sailing Communities I was in,was anything other than deeply suspicious of their reliability? So I think I have inherited a Cultural Opposition to them which may or may not be based on very real issues . The biggest issue I directly remember was them being nothing but a total pain in the ass to maintain properly. Frankly, if more than sound enough one would address the lack of a shallow enough Draft I am facing . Have they come on far enough for me to be able to entertain the thought of having one ?🤔 Best Wishes.Bob.🙂🌟🌟🌟❤️⛵️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧

Could you expand on your issue with the genoa sheet? Was it the sharing of the same track (sheets rubbing), or that the track is set too far inboard so angle of sheet compromised when reaching?
@SVTONICBoatWives
@SVTONICBoatWives 5 ай бұрын
I think the track is fine if it’s say a small Genoa, I don’t like doubling up on equipment like that if there is no choice but there are always options to be had. I had this system before on another sailboat some years ago and can say it works but. With regards to downwind sailing you can or should use a poll so the track position is not massively important, unlike racing yachts. I hope that is a little more clear? I didn’t mean to sound dramatic or that it was a bad choice.
