wow! i dont understand all the circuit stuff...and how to build all that technical stuff...but i understand exactly what is going on and it makes me wish i had more knowledge so i could do this. beautiful work!

Surprising video!!, i want to start growing some beatiful crystals by my own, and this video it's really specific, that's really good, i had no idea about the temperature influence on this process, i noticed you isolated the growing seed ( like Normand's advice jaja), that's a certainly nice job. Keep doing videos, Good luck!!

I love this video! Thank you! Two things, though: People are bidding like mad on China-based mineral sellers - lately they've been selling some very odd items. Now that I see how easy it is to grow crystal from a little seed, I will only use crystals that I dig up myself. And, it's "sweet spot," just so you know. I think you're amazing, and a great teacher, too!

I've seen other methods for growings alum crystals at home but the process took much longer for the crystals to reach that size is the temperature at 25 Celsius the reason for his growing so fast ?

This is Truly Beautiful..& the geek in me is ecstatic...wants Desperately to make one...but i have as much chance of getting an Arduino, or the means to build one (i have built PC's), as i have of walking on the moon. That was a different life, in aeons past.

How did you solve your saturation issues. To me at least its unclear. I think you have just gone though trail and error with the heat of the feeding chamber. Is this correct?

I have no idea but after he put that yellow tape on what was he doing with that other machine hooked up to the test tube? I bet he could probably make a pretty killer bong. Wait a minute when he started cutting that q-tip I heard like a bomb go off did you get here too?

I had seen a video of lab grown crystals such as these, that were made for optics. Instead of directly agitating the solution such as you had, they gently rotated the apparatus. I assume this method encouraged the solution to separate based on the density differential of the spent, and usable solution.
@KonichiWawa8 жыл бұрын
Ya, I use a motor to rotate my crystals and despite the agitation there is an issue with solution density. This results in varied growth between top and bottom. I only rotate the crystal and add solution as needed. www.flickr.com/photos/135759966@N03/27960123014/in/dateposted-public/

Konichi Wawa so you keep adding solution as the water evaporates? If so, how do you maintain a stable ratio?

Supersaturate water with alum at a certain temperature, pump that into a less saturated and lower temperature solution to trigger crystal growth.
