You mentioned that you looked the springs over for damage but you didn't say whether or not you tested the stiffness of the springs to see if they were more-or-less equal. Was that something that would have been worthwhile checking? You had $300 tied up buying the heads. Did you double that for the additional pieces? An interesting journey.

I did want to test poundage of the springs but dont have a way to do it. Not so much comparing each one to the others but just to know seat pressure at closed and full open so I have a better idea what they are and what they can take as far as rpm and whatnot. I may still get a spring scale and pull one back out just to know for sure. I am way over double into the heads. In just replacement parts (so far) I am just over $700 into them not counting original purchase price. That is guides, valves, retainers, locks, and machining (that I didnt do). Fun times!

Good example of a bargain being more expensive than a quality supplier. I feel your pain about getting bad or wrong parts. Seem like all the overseas manufactures are racing to the bottom on quality. I return them for refund, so they lose any kind of profit. Counterfeits are being bigger pain also.

Absolutely! Reviews were kind of all over the place on these types of heads when I was reading. After seeing these I wouldn't do it again for sure. However it was a bit fun going threw them and making them better. But, to get these and put them on a good motor and eventually ruin an entire motor because of them would make me a sad panda. Some parts are ok to cheap on, most parts aren't though. At least if you plan to keep and actually drive the vehicle. Haha
