Also, judging by the massive dilation of the pupils and the filling of the eye with blood from capillary hemorrhages I would speculate that the virus is also attacking/stimulating the adrenal glands to massively overproduce adrenaline. A nonstop adrenaline rush would further explain the infected subject's extreme tolerance for pain, greater than normal strength and stamina, and it also causes anxiety and irritability of some kind in most people too, which will further exacerbate the limbic system disorder causing hyperaggression. In addition the Adrenals play a part in testosterone production, and while it's not true that testosterone causes aggression, elevated levels do result in disinhibition to risk-taking behavior, so if infected individuals are producing huge levels of adrenaline and testosterone due to the virus hyperstimulating the adrenals as well as parts of the brain, it would further explain their lack of self-preservation behavior as well as other physical symptoms like profuse sweating as the massive adrenaline overdose sends the body into permanent fight-or-flight mode and the heart races, sending more blood to the skin for heat exchange. In all likelyhood these infected will drop within a matter of dozens of hours to a few days from overwhelming cardiovascular stress and exhaustion, assuming nothing else does them in first.

25:00 I find it terrifying that, hypothetically, since the virus brings out the most sadistic urges of a person while keeping their intellect intact, then there were likely some infected that were aware that rather than brute violence, simply spreading the infection as much as possible would cause the most suffering. It's likely that there were carriers who were quietly infecting others as silently and quickly as possible.

Was told a story by a mate in high school, back in his home city there was a pycho who caught the herp from some chick, she obviously knew she had it, leaving him with a surprise a couple weeks laters. He was a good looking guy and basically evil, every weekend he would go out and infect as many women as he could at the clubs as revenge. As a borderline germaphobe, this was on a whole other level of disgusting. That was back in the 2000s, so fast forward to today, and I am sure the number of people with stds and aids is astronomical thanks to reduced inhibitions and dating apps.

As someone who has been burned by a fryer and the oil inside I find it funny how unrealistic it is by turning his skin to playdough. Really it's just like any other burn except it's hard to clean due to the oil which continues the burning process for a few seconds, standard 2 minutes under cold water doesn't apply either so you need to hold it for at least 5 mins and apply burn gel and cover the burn, air exposure cause your nurves to scream in agony and then you have a screwed up hand for a whole shift, real fun. It also leaves a lovely dark scar as all the flesh under it has been coocked and the scab that forms from the blisters you get after? Ooooh boy do they get itchy and painful. So all in all react quick if you get burned by something like that and cover your hands in the future, also cover as much as you can and don't wear anything that is any degree of plastic, it melts the plastic since the oil on average is at 215C (419F) and it can melt into your skin and cause your skin and the plastic to fuse, very VERY painful. TL;DR: fryer oil attack in movie unrealistic. Fry oil burn IRL painful and worse than standard burns. Wear protective non-plastic, no shortsleeved clothing otherwise your skin with be fussed with molten plastic.

This movie, (and the comic series Crossed, which inspired the film), is really morbidly fascinating to me. From a psychological perspective, I'm intrigued by the connection between happiness, pleasure, pain, and violence, and how those things interact with each other in an unstable brain that is devoid of any moral compass. That's why the end scene really stuck with me - hearing Jim tell Kat how much he loves her, how she is his purpose in life, immediately followed by graphic descriptions of how he wants to physically torture her, well.... that's interesting to say the least. It reminds me a bit of the cenobites from Hellraiser, how they are so depraved that they can no longer differentiate between pleasure and pain, and they just crave extreme sensations in every direction.

One year all the students and staff were told to evacuate the school and us kids weren’t told why, the teachers were walking every student up to their doors and made us lock them when we entered our houses, we then had two days with every person under instructions that they could only leave their house if they had a rifle with them, after the two days school resumed like normal and all us students almost went on strike because we refused to do any work until we were told what happened. It turned out that there was a full grown Bull Moose that had gotten Rabies and was rampaging all over the village and surrounding areas. More threatening than an animal is a human who thinks of themselves as an animal. I understand why people said this film was traumatising. This movie reminds me of the crossed comics. Carriers of the virus are generally known as the "Crossed" due to a large, cross-like rash that appears on their faces.The infection gives the Crossed a driving need to perform the most evil acts they can, somehow triggering the parts of their brains which control their darkest, subconsciously pent-up inhibitions,they constantly try to rape anyone or anything they can chase down but The Crossed do not simply rape and kill their victims, they torture and mutilate them to cause the maximum amount of pain and suffering. The comic is really disturbing like really really disturbing so read it at your own risk.

So the ALVIN virus is the CROSSED virus from the Crossed Comics which basically does the same thing in the movie. Side Note: I recently got current event virus, which sucked. However I've had worse flus but my partner got it worse and said it was the worse sickness they ever had. My question and curiosity is why? Why dose the current event virus effect people so drastically?
@rjmoskovitz25622 жыл бұрын
everyone's immune system is unique and reacts differently to all sorts of things. The resulting sickness is influenced by many factors such as viral load, nutritional status, overall wellness, genetics, medications, etc, and many more. Some examples of this in action are allergic reactions as well as cancer patients. Let's say I have a peanut allergy that can result in my throat closing and I can no longer breathe while you have a peanut allergy but only get a rash and itchy mouth. That's an example of how the same exact thing can cause two different outcomes. Cancer patients are taking medications that will suppress their immune system and weaken the body's ability to fight infection. As a result, signs of infection take longer to appear and with less severe symptoms yet it can still result in dangerous outcomes. As with most things, we don't have a full answer for why some people react differently than others but this is a brief overview to give you a jumping-off point to look into it more.
@rozu77722 жыл бұрын

Gonna go out on a limb and assume the reason the kids ran was because... Well, they're kids. In the infected you see/interact with individually like DOB and them, they still retain a lot of their personality (Like how DOB was still obsessed with Kat and then assaulted Molly instead of fixating on anyone not infected). You don't see many infected after all ramming crotches into barbed wire, but if I think back to High School I can easily recall games boys would play called 'Bloody Knuckle' where they'd swipe quarters into each others knuckles with enough force to tear the skin off. So, this kid tied to a pole getting beat on and getting his junk wrecked was playing a more intense version of that. This'd be why they ran away I assume, and then came back shortly thereafter; They got spooked because youngin's (And a legitimate injury), one tried to ninja intimidate, found it wasn't working and they ran. Then they probably rallied themselves, got rocks and chased him off. I mean, logically there was more of them than him and the adult infected had zero issues going after one man alone in a group, but kids aren't always logical.

People keep bringing up the Crossed comics and understandably so, but this also kinda made me flashback to the Reavers of Firefly/Serenity. I mean they do share some similarities in behavior when you remember that the Reavers are just normal people under the influence of a chemical that boost their aggression and eliminates self control. Zoe described them as raping, cannibalizing and skinning their victims. They also prefer their victims alive when doing this. And like the Saddened, the Reavers also maintain the ability to use weapons and technology, as well as organize, likely still retaining such knowledge from their previous selves. They've also been known to torture people and drive them insane to the point of becoming "Reavers" themselves. Who knows, maybe Joss Whedon read Crossed, too, like the director of The Sadness has already admitted to having done.

For future reference the “scythe” that Jim uses is actually called a billhook machete or billhook sickle.

Oh damn. Looks like someone found out a way to make a live action Crossed show. I don’t know if I should be impressed or horrified

Fucking horrified lmfao. Probably the most disgusting movie I’ve seen, and I’ve watched a ton. You literally see zombies fisting people to death in this film lmfao. Not fully ofcourse but enough to know what’s going on. That’s probably not the worst part a lot of this movie had me feeling some type of way. It’s wild. I’ve seen actual videos of people dying that haven’t made me feel like this movie 😂

Shocked to see that you would have covered this. It was just released. But I was hoping you would not going to lie I can't figure out how it's spread from person to person. Ah okay I got you thank you. I thought it was first spread by air then when inside it mutated. I was probably putting to much thought into the graphics that they showed at the beginning.

Seriously. I'm in the NJ/NY area and have a next door neighbor with a sign on his lawn that says "if you voted for Biden, you owe me gas money." I printed a redacted copy of my aunt's funeral invoice and wrote, "should I deduct it from this expense courtesy of Trump?" then attached it to the signpost. She died on a ventilator after getting c-19 before lockdown when things were already well out of control up here. Gotta love the politicized denial from those early days. Smh

@@DarlingMissDarling What's funny is the idea that it's entirely Joe Biden's fault for gas money being raised. Because one of the biggest reasons is when the lockdowns started opening up and people started driving more, a demand for fuel became higher and thus we get the price gouging from companies we don't seem to want to regulate. That and a war that there is no way in hell Ol' Joe could have done anything meaningful about. Honestly I'm glad we got that centerlane geriatric cadaver in the seat instead of that bloated megalomaniacal over ripe tomato, since he'd probably try and fully interfere with the war thinking he's a savior or hero and end up pushing along the M.A.D that Russia keeps threatening us with.

@@seventeenseventythirteen7465 you just took the words out of my mouth. The few times I've had a Trump-ist I actually know personally hurl insults about Biden to me, I always ask them if they expect me to be personally offended and should I now fight them on Biden's behalf? That usually stops them long enough for me to inform them of the one fundamental yet simple difference between Trump Die-hards and the average democrat: we don't worship Joe Biden as our GOD like they do with Trump. They'll put that moron in their nativity scenes then risk life and freedom to storm the capitol quite literally only to defend his honor. You can almost hear "the father, the son and the holy donald" breezing through their ears where common sense should be.

Sadism isn't necessarily a mental disorder in and of itself, though it can be a symptom of a a few (such as Antisocial Personality Disorder.) Most sadists don't like seeing pain in general and have empathy for suffering people. I personally recoil from scenes of dismemberment and mutilation, and if I see someone suffering or in pain, I have a strong urge to help. However, in a controlled setting with a consenting partner, I do enjoy inflicting pain on a willing masochist. The BDSM community is full of people like this. People with big hearts and empathetic souls that only enjoy the pain of those who enjoy pain and put safety and wellbeing as the top priority. SSC - Safe, Sane, Consensual. No mental illness required. Just a bit of honesty with one's own weirdness.
