I wish they would've never broken up the dlo core. I mean, by all means , trade caris, cuz it seems like that trade saved his life due to finding the health situation he had. But they seemed so promising together. Hell, maybe dlo could've been a multiple time all star by now

Dude that team wasn’t going anywhere. Hindsight is 20/20. Imagine a world where they kept that, kept getting bounced or miss the playoffs then you hear a report that KD and kyrie wanted to both join the nets but the nets said no, I know people like you that would definitely say they fumbled.
@kartierglory Жыл бұрын
@@VincentVincent_89 I'm VERY against super teams my guy. That team was full of potential if coached right. It always seems like teams get stars in their eyes and break up young talent that ACTUALLY GELLED together, cuz they've all been in the same system and they have chemistry. I'm not down with that. Cuz look where it nearly always ends. That's like if they decided to break up the okc thunder rn for the 2 hottest pieces rn. That's utterly stupid to me. I'd much rather build chemistry and stick with it until there's actually a clear notion that things will not work. Same strategy I have on 2k. Them Brooklyn boys had a few more years to show and prove.
@kartierglory Жыл бұрын
@@VincentVincent_89 and I STAY preaching that certain players seen to work in certain systems and environments. Jeremy in new York, dlo in Brooklyn. Dwight in Orlando. Kemba in Charlotte. All examples of thriving in an ecosystem that played to their strengths. That Brooklyn culture atp was PRIME for dlo to flourish

I think that the 2019 group was growing together so beautyfully and they broke that for, again, 2012/2015 problems. Great young core, great office, great coaching and style... broke for nothing.
@Alvini_Linguine Жыл бұрын
On one hand I don’t blame Sean for making the move since it’s KD and Kyrie. But we saw what happened when they were coached by someone who was competent in Jacque Vaughn. Instead they had way too much power and it hurt their chances more than anything
@raizarslaxterhaha Жыл бұрын
@@Alvini_Linguine yes but that group was close, they did have future, cap space to bring the best role players around them, nice system, the building FULL and people enjoying...it was... I insertando that you get a top5 player in the league and all, but, if it cost you the hard work that you put just to get them and also cost you your identity, whats the point? Example, Miami got 2 top players with Wade, but the identity was STILL there. Same with GSW when they got KD, same with other examples. But if you got something to destroy your work and pray that this new work its going to be positive...good luck i guess.

The fact that the nets coulda had brown and Tatum is what makes the KG & PP trade the worst in nba history. Imagine the nets today if they had JB & JT. Unbelievable how being impatient can be so detrimental to the team. Celtics made some of the smartest trades in nba history over the last 20 years.

Ive been a Nets fan since 1990 and the fact that we had two "super teams" and didnt win after really only a single season of each doesn't really effect me. Whats worse are all the good teams that the Nets had that had a solid core and youth, and were torn apart. My two favorite Brooklyn Nets teams are the 2012-13 team(first year in Brooklyn) and the 2018-19 team(year before Kyrie). Those teams were different to each other but were fun to watch. In 2012...Joe, Brook, and Deron were great together but what made it go was Blatche, Evans, and Wallace. In 2018...it was a youth movement of Russell, Dinwiddie, Harris, and Lavert and only one player of our top ten scorers was over the age of 27. The ball was spread around and became team basketball and fun to watch. Both of those teams had their youth taken away from them in order to create a juggernaut and sadly were only given a season or two to win a championship before we were torn down and starting over. I think the story of the Nets are not giving enough time for good solid teams to grow together. Its happen time and time again with surprisingly good teams like 2012 and 2018 and the super team years.

As a Nets fan i think the team shouldn't make any drastic trades until the trade deadline. Wait and see how the team gels with a full training camp together. Its unheard of to try to win a playoff series with 4 NEW starters with 20 games left in the regular season. We dont even know what we truly have yet as far as fit and potential. Let the season play out and see what pieces are needed to get better. See if Ben10 can get to 80% of what he was physically before the surgery. He was like 60% healthy last year. It was dumb to have not shut him down after Christmas.

Well obviously it’s been an amazing journey for them. They got Shai from LA, and stayed tanking to be able to get Chet naturally, JDub from the Clips pick, Giddey, and even got diamonds in the ruff like Isiah Joe and Lu Dort. They got some rounding out to do, but that team is going to stay great due to Presti’s ability to make things happen!

I totally agree with you. Superteams rarely work. Only the Warriors and Heat I'd say worked. But even the warriors before they got Durant, weren't even a superteam. Curry, Klay and Green all developed that chemistry before Durant. He was just the icing on the cake. Look at the last NBA championship teams. Boston, I wouldn't say they were a superteam, Brown and Tatum have built up chemistry. If you wanna say Holiday and Porzingis made them a superteam. That's fine. But I look at them as all- stars, not superstars. 2023- Denver, they just had great chemistry. 2022- Warriors, without Durant. 2021- Bucks, Giannis, Middleton, Holiday and Lopez? That doesn't scream superteam to me. Now about the new era Bulls, they tried to make a superteam of DeRozan, Nikola and Lavine, that didn't work. Doncic and Kyrie? That almost worked but not so far. Davis, James and Westbrook? Terrible. Kawhi and George? Not bad, but not the greatest. Team chemistry wins championships. It's always been like that. It always will be like that.
