This song is one of the greatest blues songs ever written. The lyrics and the guitar work are amazing, but I wouldn’t recommend it to a person going through a heartbreak. The sadness in the lyrics is too much to handle, for someone going through something like that. The tears will not stop flowing.
@TrondClemensen3 жыл бұрын
I went through a very rough breakup about 4 years ago, and this song (among others) did a lot to help me through it. Sometimes those tears need to flow for the hurt to start to heal... The song is absolutely beautiful and it has a special meaning to me, in a good way today.

I couldn't wait to see you, waiting by the door There's no one there to meet me, and your clothes are on the floor Sorry if I hurt you, and I made you cry Couldn't stand to see you, with another guy It's the bluest blues, and it cuts me like a knife It's the bluest blues, since you walked out of my life Couldn't really tell you, how you hurt my pride Something broke within me, down inside I never knew I loved you, til you went away Now the loneliness surrounds me, everyday It's the bluest blues, since you walked out of the door It's the bluest blues, 'cause I won't see you no more I'm sorry if I failed you, if somehow I'm to blame It's the bluest blues I'm feeling, it's a cryin' shame I just can't live without you, face another day It's the bluest blues I'm feeling, and it's here to stay It's the bluest blues, and it cuts me to the bone It's the bluest blues, when you can't find your way home

Jeff Beck, the guitar players guitarist must be blown away with this masterpiece. It’s simply timeless even tho I’ve been listening to it for the past 5 decades.
@xmandlt Жыл бұрын
I sincerely doubt Jeff Beck was 'blown away' with Alvin's playing here. Now George's playing, on the other hand...
@thecollective7493 Жыл бұрын
@@xmandlt This is a true statement. Alvin's solo is competent run-of-the mill flash but rock is saturated with that kind of solo, it could just about be anyone. George's is a sweet and unique "voice" that Beck would appreciate, having a guitar "voice" of his own. By "voice" I mean you can tell who's playing straight away.

I’ve been hooked on Alvin’s guitar work and songs since I first started hearing them about 1973 or so. This tune… so aptly titled IS the Bluest Blues as it brings out waves of emotions every single time I listen. George’s slide solo is hauntingly sad but mellow (melancholy?) and builds the emotion in to the next verses. Alvin’s solo at the end is an absolute sonic and emotional rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, brilliant light and deepest darks, screams and wails that tear at your gut until it leaves you a mess holding your head in hands at the end…. Wishing that there was more! Absolutely brilliant. You must listen through headphones or earbuds to feel the deepest emotions. It’s shocking.
