Molly Rankin and Alec O'Hanley of Alvvays talked to us about getting bitten by the "music bug."
On June 5th, before dream-pop foursome Alvvays hopped on the sweetlife LA stage at sweetgreen's new West Hollywood spot, The FADER caught up with singer Molly Rankin and guitarist Alec O'Hanley. Watch the video above to hear the two share how they met, started writing together, and escaped the brutally cold winters of Nova Scotia for the sunnier Toronto.

"Archie" does not exist, is just a way to describe a situation.

The Archie of the song does not exist, but they took the name from Archie Rankin, who is Molly's cousin according to Wikipedia. When Alvvays played at SXSW in 2015, Molly Rankin said in an interview with SPIN: "Archie is one of our closest friends from Cape Breton. His parents bred golden retrievers, and we made a path through the woods to get to his house so we could play with them every day. He’s a geologist in Halifax, Nova Scotia now. We have a picture on our fridge of him smoking a cigarette at age five."
