As great as the original was, this stripped down arrangement has me mesmerized. The violin at the end is the perfect ending. Time to hit replay again (for the third time). The most moving song I’ve heard in a long time

honestly this is a song I have been playing on repeat for a few hours now as I study. The peaceful sadness, yet optimistic hope in the words and beast mode melodies, have been great encouragement. Thank you for your amazing musical voice and heart Yvette.

this came out right after someone whom i'd been in and out of life and time with had again had to separate. a motorcycle, a beautiful woman. a complicated, tragic loss, grasping at the embers of a dulling, desperate tenacity to something you know subconsciously most likely will never be again. oh, always. thanks, yvette. i love your music, very glad to see you winning.

This song has a special meaning to me, the relatable lyrics, the gentle, translucent yet solid feelling has supported me a lot although it just came out two months ago. I can't say how much I love your music, but they gave me so much strength and comfort in my difficult times, especially these acoustic ones. Has been your fan for almost ten years, but it's a shame I never got the chance to go to your concerts, especially when I have to miss the ones in my home country China. But anyway, just want to say thank you so so much and really looking forward to see Covet live in Santa Barbara or anywhere in SoCal in the future!

I love this song so much and I love this arrangement. I hesitate to write this in whatever weird, parasocial way, but- fuck it. I first started following your music with A Map, a String, a Light back in 2013. Seeing your progression as an artist and how much of yourself you put into your art is inspiring. The violin coming in with this arrangement felt like young Yvette involving herself in this ode to personal growth and nostalgia. I just love it. Thank you for being you!

ik youve been putting A LOT of time and effort into breaking into that pop scene but the simple beauty of the yvette + acoustic guitar combo is so killer... i humbly think you dont need anything else. "a map, a string, a light" seems to be the real tried and true formula! i love it, people love it, and it seems authentic and fresh. just my take (: thanks for all the amazing music over the years ❤️

This is my favourite song this year. Its been on my On Repeat playlist since it came out. I love the layering in the chorus as it echoes from ear to ear. It feels sort of interactive in a way, like I can catch the sound, if you get what I mean. I do have a question though, I've been subbed to the channel for years but the bell icon is crossed out so I don't know if new video releases appear in my subscription feed.
