It's really been quite the journey; I still remember writing about and promoting your music during the early days of Instagram (2015). Something grew in me after hearing "Acoustics" in 2014 and I in turn became a musician myself. After all these years, I can still feel that very magic in your music today, thank you for the inspiration, the memories and the encouragement to be yourself in a world where many advise otherwise. It really does seem that the best things in life are the people you love, the places you've been & the memories you've made along the way and it's through our art that we are able to live and breathe that very mantra. Thank you for everything.

This popped in my feed today, as your music so often does, when I need it. Today marks 23 years since I lost her. Somehow, your music, be it a short, a clip, a riff--or a new song--"Always" comes just when I need it most. I don't know how you do it, Yvette, because no matter how sad I am, it never fails to put a smile on my face. And though I miss AJ terribly (she was gone far too soon) this makes the pain of her loss easier to bear. And I feel like today, for the first time in the 23 years she's been gone, I can actually face the day with a smile instead of tears. Thank you. EDIT: rewatching the video, I noticed you're using a JC-40, and soapbar pickups... she used a JC-120 and soapbars... I swear, I don't know if it was a coincidence or her way of saying "it's OK" or what... but dang. Just... dang...

I remember Yvette emerging in the pantheon of our generation’s guitar gods when I was in college. Having seriously studied the instrument, I was preoccupied with discussions of technique and playing style among the different big names. All of them are unbelievable players. However, having had time to mature as a listener, I observe that Yvette is the only one whose voice completely transcends technique. EVH (who of course also studied piano first), famously said he didn’t care if someone could play, he cared if they could talk. Yvette speaks through her music. Her expression is impeccable. 10/10 will be buying this.
