ALWAYS have a backup camp spot ! Solo Camping in Lake Mead

This week we hit the road for a quick solo overnight camp trip in Lake Mead! Originally I tried to camp at Crawdad cove to get to Box Car cove but sadly they have closed this area down to dispersed/blm camping which was new news to me! Bummer because this was the first area we'd ever dispersed camped in Lake Mead when we first moved to Las Vegas but luckily I had a backup option which is 8 mile road in Lake Mead! 8 mile is a great alternative to Gov wash which can get crazy busy for dispersed camping.
We found a nice spot with a great view of the water, relaxed in the sun and (tried) making smash burger tacos on the Tembo Tusk Skottle ‪@tembotusk‬ which has been a popular recipe online these days but sadly this was not my favorite lol I'd take a bun over taco any day for burgers!

It took a while for me to think of setting the Tembo up like that, makes it so much easier lol As long as these dispersed areas remain open I dont mind picking up after trashy people lol! at least these were just beer bottles so it was easy to pickup. Thanks for watching Jim!

I'm always whining about packing everything and dealing with the traffic to get there. But when I get there I'm like why don't I do this more often lol. Its always worth the hassle to get out there. And I agree that Buffalo Trace is some tasty stuff. First time I ever had it was on a United flight a few years ago.

Hahaha I've been on a tick-toc burger taco kick myself 😂 I find the beef is too moist for the tortilla so I leave it on the grill (or pan) longer by walking away and just letting it cook longer

I bought a Clam Quick Set pop up canopy 9x9. I cook and chill in it at the lake. Its like a pull pop mosquito net tent thingy. It keeps the bugs out day and night. After being invaded by moths and drinking one that went into my beer can, i wanted a giant mosquito net thing. I also have an ARB awning and awning room thats serves the same purpose but way harder to set up. Great vid as usual! Im jealous, havent gotten out in a while.

Me drinking a moth in my beer would definitely warrant a damn bug canopy lol! Thats awesome, I'm definitely looking into one of those after this last beach camp trip we did a few weeks ago and were getting attacked by bugs lol I was debating on getting walls or creating some kind of bug net around the 270 OR just buying a canopy with a full enclosure so good point on set up, i imagine it would be easier to setup with the canopy vs the awning attached to the truck

lol! yup unless its a longer trip I won't bother airing down. i'm running Toyo AT3s and they've been solid! After these wear out I'll prob upgrade my wheels and look into a different set of tires

@@Kadenventures nice! I’ve got the BFG KO2s, I absolutely love them! But, you gotta rotate them every oil change or the fronts will wear on the outside edge. They’re notorious for cupping like that if you prolong rotations. The nitto ridge grapplers and falcon wild peaks have my attention for my next tires. What wheels are you looking at?
