I also find adding less water to the broccoli. You don’t really need a lot of water. It seems to water it down too much. I often add just a little bit of water and a little bit of oil. Then, the water boils off, and it softens just enough, then I essentially sauté slightly.

I'm glad you had such a great time at the reading. Maybe you can offer a few small things from the shop as a giveaway at the reading to further get the name out. 😊

Homepride do a fantastic sausage casserole jar mix (although you can only get it from Asda) but i precook some sausages, chop them up and whack them in an oven dish with the jar sauce, stick it in the oven for 25mins and boom. Goes great on a jacket potato with grated cheese on top! Xx

Frozen broccoli never has alot of taste, whats good is toasting sesame seeds and then some sort of sauce so it coats the broccoli with the sauce and sesame seeds

My daughters cardiologist recommends broccoli twice a week. Great vitamin k. She can’t do more than that because she’s on warfarin because of her mechanical heart valve. We use some chilli flakes on broccoli ora few shavings of-Parmesan. Xx.

Roast frozen brocoli to give it more flavour. Toss in oil, salt, pepper and garlic and cook in the oven or air fryer until crispy! Fresh brocoli is delicious when boiled though :)

I find adding spinach to pasta a very easy and tasty way to add iron. Or, adding spinach to Quiche, etc.

Unless you have a nutrient rich diet, going vegan could be risky especially for someone with health problems. You need to make sure to supplement all the vitamins and minerals that you'd lose from dairy and fish with beans, pulses, lots of varied fruits and vegetables and you'd need B12 supplements. Even some of this should be considered when going vegetarian. I don't know if you've experienced a change in your health since cutting out meat, it might be worth looking into the main types of meat you ate, what minerals and vitamins they provided and the look for vegetables that contain these to make sure you getting them.

Restrictive diets need lots of attention to maintain healthy vitamins and minerals which your heart needs, and vitamins to maintain iron stores, etc. If you chose another change in your diet, consult a dietician if you haven’t already. 🙂Not preaching, just hoping you stay well.

Oooh I need to watch that documentary. You can go vegan without having to ditch everything at once. It's a learning process and it can be quite difficult but its worth it in the end. Ps, sorry this will be a long comment haha. I really don't want to sound like a preachy vegan but man, it changed my life. I struggled with asthma, acne, excema and I was ill allllllll the time. My doctors would just say 'oh well, thats just how it is. It must be a "virus". Here take some medicine.' After starting a healthy plant-based lifestyle my eczema is completely gone, my acne is gone AND the most incredible of them all is that I don't take my asthma medicine anymore! My doctor looked me in the eyes and told me I was just gonna have to live with it.... and here I am on year 4 feeling better than ever taking no medicine what so ever (haha that really sounded like on of those IG spam comments). I really want to give you some advice that I wish someone would have given me when I started haha. My advice would be: 1.Take your time: do research here and there, read about nutrition and start small. Don't stress about it, take as long as you need. Start small by replacing traditional butter with vegan butter etc. 2. When you know more about nutrition and what the body needs, make a list of breakfast, lunch, dinner recipes that are filled with nutrients and that will make you feel satisfied at the same time. This will help you so much if you're stood thinking 'I have no clue what to eat for dinner', take a look at the list and then choose one. Also, the better you are at cooking, the more fun it is being vegan. 3. Ask for help: Man do i wish I could have when I started but these days if you need advice or help there are SOO many fb groups out there! People are more than happy to help you if you have questions or if you're finding it difficult and need some support. 4. The most important one is to have fun with it! You'll discover SO much about yourself, nutrition and eat the most delicious foods. Its a whole new food world with lots of amazing things to eat so enjoy it 😀🥰 💚

For broccoli I always cook it in a garlic oil and then chop it really small to add to dishes because I get so bored of the texture. 🫣 To boost iron, I’d recommend raw spinach. It doesn’t taste of much but is super easy to add on the side of pasta dishes for a bit of salad etc. If you eat anything high in iron, ensure you’re eating alongside a veggie / fruit high in vitamin c because it helps with the absorption of iron (so drink an OJ or add peppers 🫑 in your dishes). I’d recommend keeping an eye on your B12 level as well if you’re going vegan- you’ll need to take a supplement to make sure you’re getting enough - mine got so low I was really unwell which is why I switched back to adding fish to my diet.

Been vegan 13 years, all my family are now. Veganism isn't a diet, it's about not harming animals, its an ethical way to live, the food we eat is plant based. There's a big difference between plant based and vegan. Vegans don't wear leather or fur, ride horses, go to zoos etc. The benefits come with much better health. Dairy is associated with breast cancer, diabetes, excess mucous, weight problems as cows milk is designed for a baby calf to get 400lbs in a year, also the cow hormones in the milk affect the cells in our body. After all it was meant for another species to be raised on not us. If you eat eggs 7 billion day old male chicks are ground up alive as they are of no use to the industry. So go vegan for the animals and the benefits to your health and the planet. For anyone who is anti vegan I won't be responding to the predictable uneducated comments

Been vegan for over ten years, best thing Ive ever done, both for my health but also my wallet. But its important not to replace the meat with process vegan foods on a regular basis. You can eat a vegan diet in so many ways but if you want to improve your health and save money its best to focus on whole foods. You find so much inspiration if you on instagram and youtube 🙂

I tried veganism, lasted 6 months. Meat starting appearing in my dreams way too much. I tried, I broke down and got a burger, tasted so good. I won't buy red meat, or cook it but if I am invited to a BQ, I'm eating it. I eat poultry, and fish. Dairy including cheese was not a problem never eaten it, lactose intolerant since birth. Pills or lactaid milk still a problem. So I don't bother, raised on powdered milk as a kid no big deal. Thank goodness for almond milk I do enjoy oatmeal with no "fluff" added just plain with almond milk. Big weakness is beverages of ALL sorts and tostitos and salsa.

The veggie dinner you made for yourself looked so delicious, I was thinking that if you wanted to add flavour to broccoli then something a bit nutty like nutmeg or using some kind of nut oil (depending on if you have any allergies, of course) might be good ? As my hubby does not eat meat, poultry or fish, I have really got into @gazoakleychef these last few years. He has some amazing recipes, and he has even published some books featuring these recipes. If ever you want to completely remove eggs from your diet (again, your choice, whether you are able ,,, or want to) any recipes that require eggs as a raising agent can be replaced by the water from cans of chickpeas, apparently !

There are some vegan cheeses that are really nasty but also some that are really good. You struggle to give up cheese made out of mothersmilk for a reason, I think they talk about it in the netflix program. Maybe if you know why you like it so much you would be more motivated to stop eating it.

I used to be vegan, I think it was more for my mind than my body. I liked thinking about being vegan, and saying I was vegan, because my blood tests showed alot of awful numbers. I had to do alot of research to convince me to introduce meat back in again. My life number in numerology is 23/5
