A Chrisitan roommate of mine was once whistling this song and I was a bit confused to hear him, of all people, whistle it, so I asked him if he knew where it was from. He said "no". I had the biggest, shit-eating grin on my face as I went on KZbin to show him this. I saw his skin go white as a look of dread crossed his face when he saw people whistling as they hung from crosses. I'll cherish that moment for the rest of my life.

I'm confused by this.. why would it be a problem? Jesus himself said "forgive them, they don't know what they're doing", so he was also looking from a positive, well-wishing perspective even for those who crucified him. It rather fits.

My dad was a christian pastor for almost 40 years. This was one of his favorite movies of *all* time (along with The Holy Grail, what a legendary comedy) With this song being one of the highlights of the entire film. He passed away about 3 weeks ago, and I am genuinely considering playing this at his memorial service. He'd absolutely love it. PS: I notice alot of people seem to be offended by this movie in the christian and catholic communities. I'll tell you what my dad always told me; *"If you don't find it funny, it's probably because you are part of the joke."*
