So who wants ironic????? I still like Stryper, but have been a very proud witch for my entire life. And no, I do not need to be saved, I just had an older sister who listened to them and they wrote a catchy tune. I have no intention on judging them, I'm cool with their love of the big man, but hey, I believe different. This song always makes me think back to when I was 12 and life was innocent. This is a great love song. I just recorded it on Tuesday. I sing and play bass guitar at the same time. I rock, dance and have a great time when I do music videos. This song is my featured video right now. After 4 songs by other artists, I'm going to do 6 more Stryper songs. I'm not much of a lead singer, but I'm a great lover of people. My videos in public this summer prove it. We should be imitators of God and walk in love (Ephesians 5:1,2). Jesus Christ loves us and gave Himself for us. Before there is anymore misunderstanding, I DO believe in a guiding force in this thing we call life. But it isn't this God, and it doesn't have to be what you guy believe. I agree with much of what you write, especially that "A god that doesn't manifest in reality is indistinguishable from a god that doesn't exist." Yet I have come to the opposite conclusion about His existence. For one thing, this God - the true and living One - DOES manifest in reality - repeatedly, throughout history and in my own life. Those 66 books you reject so cavalierly are also (IMO) quite remarkable and constitute further proof that, as an academic and scholar, I find compelling and convincing for a number of reasons rooted in history, archeology, reason, science, fulfilled prophesy, demonstrated efficacy, etc. Further, from the standpoint of logic and reason, I find no warrant to reject the existence and presence of the One Whom I know and interact with on a regular (often daily) basis. I know Him as I know my wife and children. To suggest to me that He does not exist is equivalent to suggesting to me that they do not. Atheism makes no logical sense as it questions and dismisses so much of not only what we do know of science, history and philosophy, but also the corporate experience of over a billion people.
