'Stay alive' is crazy !! Hybrid/ev techs need a raise

I love the heavy duty leather gloves. Even when I deal with four eighty I wouldn't bother with gloves

Ya, don't mess with hybrid/EV electrical systems! Training, Safety Gear, and tools for high voltage diagnostics/work.

Good job, common issue are those insulation Cabral codes…

Given the higher risk of electrocution in evs and hybrids, isn't it more expensive to work one them?

It’s the amps that get you

If there's 300v there's amperage also Einstein

@@sonofmontezuma3732 the average electric car is actually around 400V some go to 800V like the ioniq 5 and ev6. Without a potential difference (voltage) there is no amperage. Your skin has high resistance and it's the voltage that will make the amperage go through that resistance. The dielectric breakdown of skin is around 400-600V dry. It's the voltage and resistance that determines how many amps will go through. And yes I am EV certified for cars.

They store power in huge capacitors in the inverter assembly, that’s why you have to complete live dead live before commencing work on the high voltage system, some systems have a waiting time as they passively discharge the capacitors but now manufacturers are actually incorporating active discharging where they forcibly discharge the capacitors when the car turns off (usually within seconds depends on the manufacturer) and to say “it’s the amperage that gets you” is not just wrong but blatantly irresponsible of you to say that as someone who has no knowledge could read that and could potentially harm themselves, please educate yourself before making ignorant comments like that

Must be a capacitor in the system.
