OUTSTANDING video. I had the pleasure of riding this train as a gift to myself last 4th of July and absolutely loved it. I wished I would have ridden it all the way but I was staying in Moab and my companion wanted to spend more time in Utah. Another option is to take your Kayaks on the train to the top of the mountain and paddle down the river.

If you decide to take the train, try to get seats in the caboose. The caboose is enclosed, you (used to at least) get free drinks, and there is less people in the caboose. And Colorado being Colorado, don't take the trip without at least a windbreaker in case the weather gets nasty.

I still miss proper trains. Diesels and electrics lack character. You can't beat the sound of a Steam loco maintaining speed while still pulling hard. Raw power. Here in the UK we have some tourist lines that have been operating for 50+ years and it's always a joy to see and hear. Rather than diminishing interest in keeping them running seems to be increasing.
