This is a short demo of a Tecsun AM broadcast band loop antenna. I have no affiliation with Tecsun, I purchased this loop many years ago with my own money.

I used this exact loop with a CCrane Skywave SSB from Puerto Rico to listen to back home stations from Baltimore to Boston while working there during Hurricane Maria. It's part of my disaster and travel kit.

Thank you for showing us this. BTW I will be back to MN and for good or at least a long time in 4 weeks, so after I back we can for sure figure out a time to do a video or something so I can share ham radio info and your channel on my channel. I think it is not only neat but could end up necessary one day...Thanks again and talk soon!

I still have my old loop and used to hook it up to my stereo receiver. One morning over twenty years ago I actually nullified WIP in Philadelphia and received WIOD in Miami just by rotating the antenna not using the fine tuning knob. Remarkable. I think the Miami station was doing something to their transmitter because this was about five in the morning in the fall season. When I got my new Tecsun in January and hooked up the loop and it didn't do a thing on MW. Didn't work. I still have my old log book of MW stations. I found that the best DX with that loop was right after the time change in November. I was getting local stations located in the deep south an hour before they go off the air or reduce power after sunset.
