I don't agree on brogue shoes, I think the shoes you have work great. the ONLY thing I agree with Ash is that as a general rule, if you wear a patterned shirt, you don't need a tie and if you wear a tie, wear a plain shirt. In this outfit, the best way to enhance it would really be to lose the tie. you have all the other great accessories, the belt, the watch, the handkerchief.
@paulietv21622 жыл бұрын
Eddie, the only thing I would add is that it looks like you either have your top shirt button undone or your tie is not fully tightened.

Wardrobe selection #2 is spot on imo. I am a big fan of earth tones and that tweed rocks.

Wow you nailed all the things I spotted. The 3rd chap I knew something was slightly off but couldn't figure it out until you mentioned the tie/shirt issue...spot on!

Am I a chap, reminds me of The Chaps Magazine article page. They send me advertising of their new magazine, but I cannot decide if it’s for me, as some of the articles seem to be a bite off the wall. I get the feeling they are still trying to find their fan base, and so are experimenting with ideas.

I really enjoyed this new feature in your channel Ash. I learnt a lot from your feedback. I'm not brave enough to send a photo in myself but hats off to those that did. You gave some very positive and informative analysis to each of their looks. They are definitely chaps!

For Mr. New Balance I might also consider a few more options for footwear as dress boots might not be to preference. I would consider maybe single monks or a great casual option is a pair of chukkas.

The Navy navy navy guy needs a higher rise and the belt should not be visible under the waistcoat.

Enjoyed the video. I may send some pics once i feel courageous enough. I am, however, mystified as to why someone would wear $1000 shoes with department store trousers!
@aWatchmakers2 жыл бұрын
Perhaps a hipster? (Just joking). If it a day-to-day wear, I could understand as trousers are not that important (in my opinion) while expensive shoes are usually very comfortable and a boost in confidence.
@connorjarvis10312 жыл бұрын
Hi Brian, simply the nature of my work. My trousers unfortunately see dusty dirty environments.

I have noticed suits with the chest pocket on the wearers right side. Mine are all on my left side. I am fine with were you elect to place your chest pocket however I am curious if you know why the variation? Thank you for your time. I enjoy your channel.

I have to agree on the first one. The footwear needs to be upgraded. A good pair of boots would really work for the outfit. If one didn't want boots, even a dark pair of sneakers would be better. Second one needs tailoring and a bit of color, agreed. Third one, the trousers need hemmed a bit shorter. I do agree about the shirt and tie. There is something about the pocket square that needs to be different, maybe a different pattern or color. He does look sharp though.
@philipjeeves74482 жыл бұрын
On Eddie's picture, is it possible that the photo is the wrong way round? As the pocket square is on the wrong side.

Possibly, I reviewed the images as sent. Well spotted.

Bit of a random question regarding shoe care. The horse hair brushes I use for my black and brown shoes are inherited form my father - who was a Royal Marine - and are 10 years older than me, and I'm 71. My question is, should I continue to use these, or should I invest in modern horse hair brushes?
@TheChapsGuide2 жыл бұрын
I would say that it is a matter of functionality. If the brushes are in good order and deliver the goods (a good shine) I would say they are fine to use. The only issue may be that the adhesive used to secure the tufts of hair that make up the brush may have deteriorated with time and may fail. But until that happens, I would say that continuing to use that brush is a great way of honouring your father's wise purchase. Modern brushes are most likely of lower quality, so use them daily and enjoy the experience sir.

He’s being too nice to these three blokes and I get that but rules are rules and the last one Eddie broke a cardinal one that I just cannot let pass. Eddie ditch the belt dude. In fact as a punishment , burn all your belts and never wear one again even when not in a suit . Pants falling down ? Find another option.
