As Dr.Crowe sat with his mask fastened firmly to his face, He pondered the plague and all it may hold. He pondered and pondered, Until the bell tolled three. He stood from his state room chair and walked to the window to gaze out over the city. He thought of the impending death of those in their homes, of all those that would surely die should they contract the plague themselves. He let out a long sigh and went down to his foyer, There his coat and hat waited for him. He adorned them slowly and sighed once more. "For a lone world waits those who wander the night." He spoke softly to himself as he opened his estate door and stepped out into the cool night air, stagnant with the stench of death and melancholy. He began to wander the streets, continuing to ponder the plague and the people he could not save. The streets were as the grave, He looked around and found not even a rat. He was alone. "And the night with her cool embrace said unto me. 'Fear not the end that comes so swift, but the void that you lack to fill before the end.'" He looked to the moon and sighed once more. "As she look down upon me a gaze so cruel yet loving, she spoke again-" Before his thought could be finished a raven called to him. To most a mark of death, to Dr.Crowe, A sign that the Lady of the Night wished him silent. He nodded to the raven as it flew off. He continued to wander the streets in silence. He soon came upon the towns edge as the bell struck four. "Seems I've wandered a bit farther then usual tonight." He turned to return home. But something caught his eye in the forest beyond, a candle light. Against his better instincts he followed. As he walked deeper into the forest a soft symphony could be heard growing louder, When he happened upon a clearing there stood a woman in black. Her hair down to her lower back and a raven upon her shoulder, Her eyes almost a glowing purple. The music was louder here as she swayed gently to it before taking notice of the doctor. "And so the crow finally meets the raven." She spoke in a voice as soft as the blowing wind. She turned to him and held out her hand. "I would ask a dance of you on this night Crowe." She smiled as Dr.Crowe took her hand and danced with her to the gentle music. "And so thought I would never lay eyes upon the Lady of night herself." The doctor spoke as the bell struck five in the distance. The sun would soon rise and the Lady of night would be gone. He looked to the ground as their dance ended. The Lady of the night spoke once more. "A lone world waits you no more my crow. For I will wander the night with you." With those words she placed a gentle kiss on his knuckles. As the sun began to rise she faded from view. Leaving the doctor alone once more.
