It definitely didn’t feel to me like bragging at all. I think it’s really beautiful that you were born into such a loving family and have had such the opportunity to have easy, beautiful friendships blossom from that core family. I don’t have that kind of family, I have had to put a lot of effort and energy into building my soul family, (and I have some incredible people in my life now) I had a lot a lot of abuse in my family. And although it hurts, I find comfort in knowing that families like yours do exist. ❤

love this idea! i think a lot of it comes from the stable loving household i was born into and then the stable loving partner i then sought out following that upbringing, but i'm sure it goes beyond that

Yes! I came here to say this. I know that you didn't choose the household you grew up in, but it would be so interesting if you made a video about how you maintain such strong friendships and a sense of community.

You have the audacity to be happy, to be financially well-off, to be thin...to be anything but miserable. It says a lot about our society - that so many would rather tear down someone instead of lifting them up (or god forbid just letting them be). Comparison really is the thief of joy.

Years go by and I continue here🫂😘 You radiate love and light, I love you so much💐🤍 One thing I have learned this past year is the great damage judgments do to all of us, judgments of any kind, so when they reach to me I try to remember that "it separates us", "it does not unite us", so if it does not unite us I'm not going to give it importance. How easy it is to say!😅 I wish you the very best Lucie 🌟 Happy New Year ✨️

I've always thought that people who go out of their way to leave negative or mean comments have some kind of mental illness. Never in my life have I ever done that, it's such a strange reaction. If I don't like a video or something, I just click off, I never even dislike it lol I just move on and won't watch them again. I'm definitely not going to write mean comments about them or be hateful. I hope people always remember that anyone who is bullying someone online has issues and they're either jealous, bitter, resentful and/or unhappy; misery loves company. How people treat you is a reflection of THEM, not you. Don't ever let haters get you down or take it personal. Not everyone is going to like you and that's okay! Love your videos Lucie! I've been following you for a couple years now and you always brighten my day :) Thanks for unabashedly being yourself and inspiring us, entertaining us, and educating us in the process. ❤

As usual Lucie, you’re so human, authentic and wise. This video really helped me and made me ask myself some hard questions. I saw some comments asking for a video with your parents for their parenting tips and a video on how to nurture and develop loving relationships - I couldn’t agree more. Such an amazing support system seems rare to me, and I’m sure you’ve put a lot of work into it yourself. So would love to see those kinds of videos and soak in more of your and your parents wisdom! Love you!❤

Nice video and perspective, Lucie. I agree--without a solid foundation of support (ie, family of origin or chosen family) and a strong sense of self, negative comments and criticisms are breeding grounds for unhappiness and misery. I think most people who make these mean/nasty/snarky comments are--deep down--very unhappy with themselves and their lives, which doesn't make them bad people...I think they see someone happy and doing well at life (in comparison to their own thoughts about their own life) and instead of saying they admire you or that they wish they had the same opportunities, privileges, and financial security, it comes out with a lot of negativity, because they are envious and perhaps grieving a life they feel is unattainable. I'm not saying these people are right, but empathy goes a long way in this life. I'm a bit older than you and have been on both sides of the coin despite my very supportive circle--some of which I have in family, some of which I've cultivated. Never would I dream of making a negative comment, ever---but have I sometimes felt a pang when what I desire is in my face on another's social media?, sure. And if it's too painful, there's always an option to unfollow. We're all human. Sometimes it's hard to be happy when your world is imploding, which is why it's so important to have a soft place to land. For those that do, cherish it. For those that don't, witnessing you with love and compassion. We never truly know what another's journey is until we've walked their path. 💖

100% - I too feel those pangs when there's a touch of jealousy. In those moments, I always try to push myself to celebrate others and share something kind. It always makes me feel good :)

I don't always have time to watch your videos but have been following you for years since Refinery 29. This video topic was really well done. It's such a mature way of looking at social media as a job and shows your self awareness and maturity, and it shines compared to lifestyle KZbinrs that are younger or have stumbled into fame very quickly. You're so lucky to have the social safety network in your real life and you expressed that in such a kind way. Great video, and I feel like you'd do great if you ever do a podcast or longer content!

I think some influencers get more negative comments than others because of what specifically they're doing rather than the way they look. So for example, issues with family vlogging and child exploitation and people literally having more children for clickbait on KZbin and sadly it really does happen. It's leading to real life stalking which is a HUGE issue. But I think you are right about the stress response aspect. Some people can be unnecessarily receiving negative comments because of what they're wearing or wearing the wrong shade of makeup which is super trivial and not actually important but basically mean - bullying. I'm so happy you discussed this!! Because it's so so important to point out. I agree, the intellectual comments or the having a nanny for extra support. Kudos to you for being straight up, being proud of your every decision even down to the nanny. Nothing wrong with getting a Nanny if you can afford it. I am pretty sure most parents would choose a nanny over daycare if they could afford it lol. I actually love that some of your content encourages healthy debate. I think it's important. I learned so much about sugar levels from you!! You are super informative. :-) I also love that you quote Brene Brown. Her research is outstanding. I own most of her books. Everyone should read them. Stay happy Lucie! Spread the positivity and love. :-)

I would be so interested to hear your take on a couple of things: the growing issue of family vlogging, just your inspiration in general, if someone who's never done KZbin before - what do you consider to be the foundation or starter toolkit? Eg equipment, ideas, editing software, project idea from brainstorming to inception. I've been super curious.

The people who are commenting with negativity are some of the saddest and most unhappy people. It’s a shame that not everyone has supportive family and friends. If every creator recognized that, maybe it wouldn’t sting so much. Unsolicited criticism reflects a depressed individual who is hurting others because they are hurting.

Do you think the influx of hateful comments has made creators pull away from their communities? So many people I’ve loved to follow for years have changed their content in a way that feels really distant. Comment sections are no longer places to interact, instead it’s a one word response to get a DM for a link. The content itself also feels like creators have pulled away. I’m curious if anyone has noticed the same and if you think it is related?
