Hi Charlie. I stopped at a Lidl the other day and I’ve not been to one in years. I was shocked at how good it was. There were lovely continental meats, fresh veg and lots of other really great things. I will be going back.

I really love the Kevin Murphy BODY.MASS LEAVE-IN PLUMPING CONDITIONING TREATMENT. Despite its name, it's not a leave in conditioner. My stylist just sprays it on the wet roots, and it works fantastically, with a blow dry or without one. Now I'm hooked and use it at home, definitely doesn't weigh down the ends.

I did a similar thing with my hair last year and I now love my bob☺️. I saw myself on our security with my long hair and thought “ Who’s that scruffy old lady “ ! That prompted me to have it cut and I absolutely love it ☺️☺️☺️.

It dawned on me at Christmas that the reason we (I’m the same) need to make the quiches/jam/brownies etc is because that is the way we show love. I sometimes wish I could nip out and buy ‘whatever’ but I can’t bring myself to do it. Who needs sleep anyway?! P.S I love the hair - very bouncy ❤

Have to say that I love your hair! You’ve been sensible and kept the same sort of style, just shorter….and it really suits you! I used to have really long hair, but couldn’t stand my first baby catching her fingers in it (she’s now 32!) I spent a lot of time just scragging it back in a ponytail….which was quite damaging.The freedom of having it cut short (much shorter than yours) was fabulous and I haven’t ever looked back…..I’m sure you’ll love your new cut soon, when you’re more used to it. It really does look lovely!

Lovely to see last week’s vlog Charlie. I think your hair is great. Really suits you. I had my mid life crisis 8 years ago aged 54. I bought a bright red shiny sports car! My husband bought a fancy powerful motorbike when he had his midlife crisis (also in his early 50’s) If your midlife crisis only extends to cutting your hair and buying a steam mop then you’re doing well 😂😂

Same Charlie …I remember once in the past I was asked to bring a course to a charity dinner party and I was the only one who had made my course from scratch . Honestly they’d all cheated with smart dishes etc but after a couple of glasses of wine it all came out 😂. There’s nothing like home made …..bought doesn’t come close so why would we buy . It’s a lot of work but worth it ! PS I live my steam mop …for any stubborn stains just hold it still over the stain and it will disappear ! 😊 XX

Your hair looks lovely - it really suits you!! Although I thought it looked very elegant clipped up before. I have lost so much hair since I had covid, my hair was really thick and curly and mid back length and now it’s limp, thin and dry…needs a good chop but I haven’t been brave enough yet 😂

I am the same with baking things from scratch and gifting food. I never go store bought when l know l can make it myself. If you do nothing more than apply Spf 50 at least twice a day all year round, including the darkest days of winter, you will be shocked how quickly your pigmentation will go. I know this from personal experience and I used Avene or La Roche Posay. Looking forward to your updates.

Oh I do and have been for 15 years but sadly for me it’s hormone related and with a huge part of my life outside it’s hard to 100% of the time keep the sun off!! Yes I have always used Avene or LA Roche too xxx

Regarding feeling exhausted and depleted: A few weeks ago, possibly in the comments of one of your videos, someone said that Ashwagandha really helped them, so I was inspired to do some research and even asked local people who were taking it and they had positive comments. This inspired me to order from Amazon - from the Thorne brand - which I trust, the Phytisone supplement which is for adrenal support, I believe hormonal fatigue and it contains Ashwagandha. It has been a little over three weeks that I have been taking this and for the first time in about 25 years I need to sleep less, can get up earlier, and take fewer naps! My children even noticed. The most surprising of all, is Memoractiv, also from Thorne. It also contains Ashwagandha, Ginko, etc. I ordered it on a whim, without much hope because I have a brain injury from a severe concussion when almost a child. Therefore, I did not think that anything could help me with that, however with the brain fog of hormonal changes etc., I needed to try something. Amazingly enough, I started to win much more often in Chess! I play several games on most evenings with my husband and teenage son, both of whom are very competitive and I am the one who loses the most. Last night, my teenager, who is a bit of a sore loser, remarked how I have started winning more and more in the past two weeks. Today I have a checkup, especially to address the above issues, and I will take them to my internal medicine doctor to get his opinion.
