Josh...does that mean, because you have no taxable income, that you will be wasting your MFJ Standard deduction? This year, my wife and I will have a $33,200 standard deduction since we are over 65. Either way, good job setting you an your bride up for tax success in retirement.

What's the problem... the larger the pre tax account grows, the higher the distributions. Paying tax on that is a good ptoblem to have. A non-roth ira is full of "house money" so what if you have to give some back. In every society or civilization, if you have money you have to pay taxes, get over it,,, and use the best strategies available.
