So in review, Matt isn't funny/clever enough to make a comedy, nor is he intelligent enough or willing to put in the effort to make a documentary, so he tries to do both and succeeds at neither. The scary thing is a guy in my church said he has "some interesting ideas," which feels like a mental gateway drug. He points out a few extreme examples to get you to agree with him, and then drip feeds you his worse takes like how indigenous people should feel grateful for "being civilized." Yeah, I'm sure my friends on the Rez in Arizona are thrilled they get to live in an age where they're constantly in court trying to get electricity and clean water to their communities.

Critics aren’t reviewing Am I Racist? because the film did not have preview screenings so critics could write reviews. This is by design, so they don’t have to deal with the bad publicity of poor reviews and so they can push the narrative that critics are too scared to review it.

It's an old story but people still seem to find it amusing as it was a genuine belief of mine for a long time; I spent years thinking that Ben sounded that way because he was being played at least 1.5x speed as I had only ever encountered him through clips on other people's channels. The number of complaints that we broke the ac so they can suffer while watching the movie or that we make the ticket prices higher compared to other movies. Every time an Angel Studios movie or Daily Wire movie, I make sure to leave early or not work because it's more trouble than it's worth.

In most non-western countries some degree of slavery is still the norm. Libia still has open air slave markets, half our stuff is manufactured by something like slaves in east Asia with minerals recycled by children on African garbage belts. It's also weird to blame the US for it because the US only existed since 1776 when most slaves were already taken there by the Brits and French a century before.

I think it's worth noting that despite the manipulative editing, it's breathtaking how little Matt is able to show. the staggering parts of Borat are not when passersby push back against the titular character, but when they "yes, and..." him. did Matt get anyone to act more over the top than he himself did? Not only must I say no, but since Matt's portrayal of the left is so hyperbolic, I'm not sure topping him would be even possible.

I actually ran across your review for this on rotton tomatoes yesterday! I was safe to assume you'd be making a video reviewing it. I'm so thankful for your bravery in sitting through the entire thing because I would not have been able to. It might be genuine interest, but these guys also organise ticket-buying sprees to boost the perceived success of stuff that suits their agendas. Same thing happened with "Sound of Freedom". Something like 20% of that movie's sales came from right-wing "pay it forward" drives that were supposed to give the tickets away, but no-one actually wanted them. Cinemas had empty yet sold-out sessions.

You know…I don’t think D’Angelo is a grifter, but I sure think Matt Walsh is one. Robin D’Angelo isn’t perfect by any means, but she at least tries to talk to other white folks about racism. Understanding these people (and their issues) would require Matt Walsh to have depth, nuance, and sensitivity, and he doesn't have any of those qualities! I highly doubt most critics or Leftists are triggered by the film. In fact, the vast majority of people of color who would be triggered by it, have no idea who the hell Matt Walsh is. The only people who would see this are those who are already fans of Walsh. I have no intention of subjecting myself to Walsh's nonsense, but At any point in the film does he discuss Islamaphobia and racism against Indigenous people, or is he just interviewing white people who talk about Black Americans?
