Why do the peoples ( Christians in particular ) differ in their religions? Because , All the prophets and messengers, Abraham, Moses and Jesus, peace be upon them, spoke Aramaic, not Hebrew. Aramaic is originally Arabic, because Adam, peace be upon him, the first of the prophets, spoke Arabic, as did the people who lived thousands of years after him, until the last of the prophets, Noah, peace be upon him. The last of the prophets from the lineage of Ishmael, the firstborn son of Abraham, from his wife Hagar, peace be upon them, spoke Arabic. If you never have had mystical experiences, then you can not truly understand those and can always explain them away. Mystical experiences are NOT religious, as they do not require religious belief. However, as said, if our worldview is heavily rational then even if we would experience even something slightly irrational we would either explain it a way or try to see it as coindidence. So in other words we create our own reality. Also, if we were offered something so powerful it would at once would go against everything we would have seen as a truth it would either a. change our worldview dramatically b. make us mad or c. make us go even deeply to our current worldview, thus denying any mystical or supernatural even more. So for these reasons we are not offered any experiences that would go wildly over what we can handle. Our host's bias was obvious by the postings that assume or defend historicity of Jesus with a total lack of awareness of topical peer-reviewed scholarship from the past century. Citing the Testimonium Flavianum is a _big red flag,_ as the TF has been reliably demonstrated to be a forged insertion by Eusebius or Pamphilus. Almost as bad are citations of Pliny minor, Tacitus, etc., obviously derivative. All fact-based historians consider the gospels _at best_ largely fictional, thus wholly unreliable. The next indicator is carefully ignoring that _all_ the earliest writings we have -- Paul's authentic epistles from the 50s, 1 Peter, 1 Clement from the 60s -- entirely lack any hint of a live Jesus having ever said or done literally anything at all. Paul takes great pains to support his opinions, which Mark has his Jesus spell out in just so many words. If anybody had heard of an actual Jesus saying those things, Paul would have felt no need to justify his opinions; they would be canon already. Third is ignoring that late forgeries such as 2 Peter, like Ignatius, are at pains to vilify Christians saying Jesus had not been here yet. Evidently such Christians (like Paul) were so common that they had to be formally denounced in Canon once it was doctrine that there had been one. It is wholly conceivable that there really was a Jesus known to Peter executed by Romans. If there was, we just have no reliable information about him. Wishing is no help, especially for a scrupulous historian.

It is important for Christians to glorify God in witnessing to the World, claiming to follow Christ in front of the World. This goes beyond saying in God? we trust. Identifying that God by name, title, attribute, . . . . is important. Step by step a Christian is being baptized into the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. @@doogmann NO. There is the scientific METHOD and then there are the scientific CONCLUSIONS. The latter can be incomplete, or even false, for various reasons, mostly for technological reasons (how could the ancient know of microbes if they didn't have a microscope?), or because research can be based on previous scientific statements that were false to begin with. But the scientific METHOD is valid always and everywhere, and it is so because it requires that one's conclusions MUST be validated, proofs MUST be found and experiments MUST be repeated by a LARGE number of other researchers. Science is NEVER an individual endeavour (contrary to the myth of the "misunderstood genius"), it REQUIRES communication and debate and confrontation with other similar scientists, exactly to minimize the individual biases.

It sounds absurd, and there are no words to describe it, but it was true. And the love I felt in my heart was the greatest feeling in the world. It is stronger than the kindest mother could ever love her children. A love that takes away any sadness. Now I don't just believe, I KNOW He exists. At that moment, I wanted to hug Jesus as tightly as I could and thank Him for all His blessings. He will help you through struggles. Even if you don't believe, still talk to Him, like you would talk to a friend. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. And if you TRULY want it, it will happen. I can't tell you when or how. I simply can't buy the concept atheists bring up with regards to why humans exist in the universe. the typical atheist answer is that we are just random biological entities created out of pure coincidence and evolutionary biology. I'm simply not satisfied by this answer. I do believe the universe had a begining and that begining was caused by a supernatural entity or energy. @@cunjoz You hear a lot, "Believe on Jesus, and you'll be saved", but what does it even MEAN to believe on Him? Well, it's not like Santa where you just simply recognize Jesus exists. There's nothing you, I, anyone or anything can do to dwell in God's presence. Jesus says even your greatest acts are filthy rags. The cost of sin is too great, and we all have sinned. We all fall short and deserve punishment for the crimes we've committed. Even one sin is enough for eternal damnation, but we don't HAVE to suffer that punishment because Jesus paid the price for us. God came down as a man to be the perfect sacrifice for all of us. See, in order for that debt to be paid, a perfect, sinless man needed to die. He paid our ransom, so now, all we have to do is simply accept His gift of salvation. Put 100% of your trust/faith in Jesus Christ ALONE for your salvation because it's ONLY through Him that you can live in God's presence in Heaven forever. I also wanna note that remember that it's a GIFT. So, as God's holding the gift of salvation out to you, it's on YOU to accept it. Sounds like a load of shyte. You didn't go to see your friend, so you didn't NEED to go see your friend. Any God would already know that, so would never have bothered telling you to go visit them. Hells, any God would know that you would ignore the voice and so they wouldn't bother telling you in the first place. So we have to imagine that it wasn't God, but some lesser being. Like a guardian angel from a fairy tale. Which brings us back to God. Fairy tales are from childhood. So too are imaginary friends. Now, if you or anyone in the history of humanity is able to SHOW that a God actually exists; to demonstrate that God is real, then you can call it a religion. If you can't show/ demonstrate that God is real, however, let's just all agree that God is a version of Santa Claus, but for grown ups, who want to keep pretending.

The fact that I've been watching your videos for as long as I have, and have never known whether you were a theist or an atheist really says a lot. It means, at least to me, that you are doing a pretty banger job at presenting things in an evidenced based manner. I actually really appreciate that I couldn't tell whether or not you were a man of faith. I do think people in the future will try to use this video against you, unfortunately. In some people's minds it adds credibility to the whole "istaphobe" narrative these days which is rather unfortunate. Biologists tend to be more atheists where as geneticists and biochemists are often more religious. I think it comes from the latter really looking into the nuts of bolts of creation and understanding the complexity that rises from even something like eyes or blood clotting to evolve, whereas the biologist will see oh bacteria that is light sensitive and think ah there's your pre evolved eye. The biochemist will see the fact that any "step" of the evolution requires multiple things to evolve simultaneously for it to at least not be detrimental to the organism and when you put all these steps together where dozens of things have to evolve simultaneously every step of the way... It kinda makes it hard to believe in evolution by pure chance

@@bradberkely7448 Yup, I agree. Although biochemics not being my main interest it was really awe-inspiring to learn about the incredibily complex microscopic architechture out of vibrating energy packages randomly flying around and bonding, even though i'm not creationist. Also, I would even say, biologists and chemists as a whole tend to be more atheist then other scientists, as they are not at located at the edge of science and need a more fixed materialist world view to do their research correctly - physicists for example, especially cosmologists and quantum physicist, in my experience tend to be more spiritual, as well es ecologists (I mean, gaia hypothesis etc...) in the biological field. So maybe just people who research in fields that are able to ee the horizon of science in the very small and the very large scale. faith and not facts? Faith is directly connected to the facts; the truths; the Bible. Additionally, there is an abundance of evidence for biblical events that dumbed down scientists cannot comprehend! The Bible is the word of God, has never been altered. What I say is the truth. Please, when you pray, don’t beg and be selfish, but know that it is by God’s will that prayers are answered. Another important part of prayer is PRAISE, praising The Lord. From the ark outline in the Ararat Mountains, to the chariots and skulls in the Red Sea; from the remains of ancient cities to the remains of giants; from massive large weapons and helmets, to an inscription of Goliath in pottery in Gaza; from a mountain covered in black, surrounded by crushed carvings of a golden calf in Saudi Arabia, with nearby being a oasis of the exact number of palm trees mentioned in the Bible, still there! And much more. Most importantly, only get your understanding of the Truth from the Bible and those you trust. The end times? They are already here. Jesus may come in 19 years.

But these Jews did follow Jesus, and if no one saw Jesus preform miracles, couldn't the people of the time easily disprove him? And the bible was created relatively quickly after the death of Jesus, meaning people who were alive at the time would likely could disprove the gospels as they were alive at the time of Jesus

God bless you my brother. Ave Christus Rex. Even if I were not a Christian, these are testimony of our father in heaven. How shallow must the mind of one be, and how shattered must their journey have been to intentionally turn away from the idea that faith and knowledge exist on two separate planes of existence. We are all children of God and the underlying message of this video is truly the most important part of your message. Christ reaches out to us all in different ways, all of our journeys are different but to remain unbiased in our academic and personal lives is truly a tightrope that most people (of faith) walk as we go through life and stumble occasionally on our path to God. I myself can admit that I am not the most holy of people in action and thought to the lord in my daily life, but never will I deny him. I'm now rambling but I think it is important to understand that although we are made in God's image it is our willing decision to follow his light that unearths our true strength. Regardless, God bless you and humbly, God bless all of you, including those of you who do not have faith in Christ. You are my brothers and sisters and I love you all and hope for you to find God's light just as I am trying to walk in his light myself.

In Catholic theology, the veneration of Mary does not diminish the central role of Jesus Christ in salvation. Catholics view Mary as a revered intercessor who can advocate on behalf of believers, just as any brother can. The act of praying to Mary is seen as seeking her prayers and blessings, not as an alternative to Jesus but as a complement to the relationship with Him. Catholics firmly believe in Jesus as the Son of God and the sole mediator between humanity and God for salvation. Once was when I fell asleep on my couch, watching TV and a guy broke into my home and came and crouched to watch me sleep, I heard a loud, booming voice, telling me to wake up that something was not right, because of God I took control of the scenario and no harm came to me. Another time was when I was having my son, and I ended up surrounded by gods energy and light , I was not ready to pass over and said “no God, I’m having a baby” again his loud, booming voice told me to breathe and I took the most amazing breath, I’ll never forget the feeling of that breath spreading throughout my body, all the way to my toes. I’m the kind of person who always needs to find a reason or a why, and I could never understand why that happened. But it finally came to me. Every time I feel alone, or giving up, I remember, and it gives me strength 😊 But I forget Jesus sometimes and I must remember “the only way is through me” Thank you

Dear Metatron. Thank you so much for this, and the unlisted video too (the reasons for which you unlisted it I respect deeply). Me myself, I am an atheist, though haven't always been throughout my adult life. I've had similar experiences in my life. but never related them to god, but always quite obviously saw a very mundane reason for why XYZ had happened this way. If one is viewing the experiences you describe through the lens of a religious mindset, this makes totally sense, and I am glad for you that you had these very powerful and meaningful experiences. All three of them. I, in these circumstances, would have interpreted these differently, as incredibly complex mundane interactions, subconcious reactions and circumstance/coincidence. BUT, as I said, that would be me. Not you, not anyone else. And this is one of two things I would like to give you HUGE credit for: You talk about YOURSELF here. You don't preach. You open up to us and reveal a very private and important part about your beliefs without falling into the trap of claiming universal applicability. As you said "You do you". Secondly, I admire your dedication to separate personal faith/beliefs from the scientific mindset. I feel and continue to see your dedication to this through every video, and this one makes it even more clearer. I feel you, being a scientist myself. Facts will be facts. Belief ist belief. And I really hope that some day the majority of my collegues in the natural sciences can obtain this level of honesty about their own bias and achieve this understanding of drawing a hard line between the worlds of personal believe and facts like you do. I am proud of you, Sir.

I don't comment too often, particularly on your videos which I always find fascinating. I very much appreciate this sharing of your personal beliefs and experiences. Mine is somewhat similar. I was raised in a tradition, but the rote repetition of tradition is never enough and so for a time I "went out on my own". But even after having an experience, reason brought me back, and later evidence solidified my return. Afterwards I've had several experiences that not only affirmed what I knew, but also gave me an appreciation for anyone who honestly and conscientiously searches for the truth regardless of their beliefs. As an allusion to Dante, I'm a little past the mid point of my life but I see everything so differently now--not separate from but rather complimentary of tradition, reason, science and faith. If God is love and God is in everything, then all of reality from the macroscopic level of the cosmos to even the smallest microbe or quark exists because of love, and all of creation cries out to return that love. If there is no love? Then bring love, and there shall be love.

I’ve watched several of your videos over the past year or so and I didn’t know what you were/believed. You always seem to just present facts and then walk away from any conclusions that are not obvious. That is commendable. As a Christian myself I appreciate the apologetic nature and response from this video. People assume that biases are always negative and serve no purpose other than steering a narrative in a particular direction. Truth be told, striving to present truth and actual facts is a bias in itself but people often overlook that fact. The narrative is truth and the bias is seeking to portray the truth by way of evidence, facts, context, historical accuracy, etc. That’s a positive bias in the same way that a teacher or scientist seeks to explain something as it is rather than what they think it should be. An indoctrination vs education negative vs positive argument as it were. Anyway I appreciate your channel, honesty, attention to details and courage in not only presenting the truth, but being vulnerable in who you are as a person beyond just a successful content creator on KZbin. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

If you do the work then a happy end if not very probable bad end.

I’m an Animist but I love your channel. You’re one of the few channels I truly enjoy to watch on the regular now. Your testimony is nice to hear, especially story 2 for me out of the three. You have my respect, brother. Keep it up and never change. 老天保佑你这世,下世,每一世。

Interesting. Animism has always fascinated me. Especially the Animist beliefs of the Japanese, the Sámi and Ancient Scandinavians.

i am a christian too im very happy to find out you are a man of faith. i love hearing how people came to god because it is not measurable and calculable and repeatable but their experience is more real to them than if you could measure and repeat it. you cant always prove or show it but it inspires convictions that people are willing to die for

I Have to say Raf, I did not expect to be soo moved by this video. I intended to just listen and learn more about my friend, but I have to say I am quite touched by this video. Now I am not a Follower of Christ, or any Abrahamic faith, closest I can equate is Wiccan, but not really. I go to what calls to me, no matter where it comes from. But watching this video brought joy to my heart and tears to my eye, for a lot of people focus too much on the religious and scripture and doctrine part but not enough on the Human side. You telling of your 2 highly impactful moments of your life reminded me of my own memory of when I decided to believe what I believe, and I feel these kind of things are more important to talk about, then who someone believes, for these moments tranced religious beliefs and speak more to the Human spirit.

You know being a christian or not shouldn't change your impression of this video or knowledge of the bible. Every individual is unique, therefore everyone's impression is unique to them. Group identity isn't exactly relevant and it's kind of annoying how religious people feel the need to announce "as a Christian" as if it is.

I am also a Christian and I think this was so well done. I try to be much like yourself in regards to speaking about my faith. I thank you for explaining your thinking so clearly.

First of all, love the explanation of bias & how you delivered it so well. There are plenty of scientists that are still are religious despite any historically inaccuracies that their belief has about history. So I'm pretty sure you already know that you are not alone in that when it comes to scientists or researchers if you prefer that term referencing yourself. Either or, keep up the great work. Coming from a non-agnostic atheist.

Great respect for you, man! So happy to hear this profession of faith, while also explaining the value of filtering bias in research and the importance of the integrity of your evidence. I will look to you for inspiration in sharing my own faith events with courage.

Polytheist here, I love your channel Metatron, and knowing your religion makes me respect you even more. There was a video of yours I watched where you said hypothetically if you found out someone worshipped the old norse gods you’d be like “oh that’s really cool” and you would respect them deeply. I’m sure you’ve heard at some point about polytheism and the new religious movements but the fact you were already committed to respecting them before you knew the religion existed (to my knowledge) makes me admire you even more. Then your quote about it being intellectually dishonest to say your religion is the only valid one while everyone else’s is not stuck with me. Thank you, Metatron, you are among the most pious of people, not just for adhering to your faith, but for your commitment to respecting the faiths of others. You call us noble ones, but I can only hope to one day be as noble as you are.

I'm a straight up atheist, and I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Can't disagree with where your faith comes from and if anything I respect you even more now than I already had. I wish more people, regardless of their personal beliefs, could handle things the way you do. We can all respect each other's beliefs and way of life (as long as no one is getting hurt of course lol).
