The kid wasn't even asking for food, mom kept offering. Crazy!
@ebagentj6 жыл бұрын
He also didn't seem to want to use his chair, she just kept offering it to him until he sat in it. He seemed to have no objections with walking around, and was even running around just fine. As others have said here, the mother seems to have a mental illness where she's forcing her child to be helpless, and what she's doing is abuse, plain and simple.
@koolaidman62516 жыл бұрын
Children have good instincts. When they are full they don't want to eat. They are also naturally active creatures -- they love to run and jump and play. Even in countries where children have very little food to eat, the children still run and jump and play because it is so natural!! It is a horrific tragedy to see child be stuffed with food beyond sickness and prevented from participating in active natural play.

Overfeeding is certainly abusing the child by depriving them of nutritional benefits that shape them up for long-term health issues. Child abuse is illegal, so, technically it's illegal - or arguably at least - but no one's done anything.

I honestly am baffled that the social workers aren't more involved. Especially Leon should not have ever escalated this far. This is abuse, a five year old isn't able to buy his own food, this is 100% his mother's doing and she should have been stopped long ago. This is nothing but abuse, she's seriously handicapped her child and is slowly killing him he should have been taken away long before he ever needed a wheelchair
@duckie.louise4 жыл бұрын
I think overfeeding would be harder to find a reasonable line for. There are also real genetic disorders that cause kids to be bottomless pit starving nonstop. I forgot what it’s called, but if you google, you’ll find it. I forgot if there’s a treatment or not but that would really suck to have to deal with.

Depriving a child of food/starvation is denying them of a human right whereas overfeeding isn’t.

Leon's mother is called a "feeder" - someone who deliberately overfeeds a vulnerable person in order to exert full control over them. It's disgusting, cruel and abusive. His wheelchair garners her sympathy and attention. If Leon was grossly underweight and staved by his mother, he would be removed. There is no difference here; he'll be dead by 25 if an intervention doesn't happen now. He should be removed from her immediately. She's hostile and aggressive.

I really think there's something much more psychological going on with her than stupidity or denial. She knows what she's doing, & she's rendering him dependent on her. He can never 'leave' her if he can't take care of himself, & even worse, down the road, this will surely have a psychological effect on him as well... Especially socially. He already can't play with other children (which means maybe no or very few friends), & his weight is going to be a nightmare for him at school as he gets older. But that means that he can be home with his mother instead. It's also a 'control' thing. She's dangerous to him, & is willing to cause him pain/discomfort for the sake of what _she_ wants.

These parents disgust me. "I feel like it's my fault" - It IS your fault, I don't get how a parent overfeeds their child to the point of dangerous obesity and letting them use a wheelchair that they don't need, or letting their kids binge on sugar until their teeth rot so much that they need to be forcibly ripped out early. Absolute abuse and neglect in my opinion. Not emotional neglect, but neglect of their child's general health needs.

To you, he may come across as arrogant and self involved, however I am also not convinced that the boys glue ear is of direct consequence of his dads smoking. The odds are definitely in favour that smoking is carcinogenic and that it can be a trigger for respatory and other issues . He did not deny this!. I Smoked from 14 - 40 and am embarrassed to say that I did in fact smoke inside and my son did get a whiff of second hand smoke on a regular basis, However, He has grow up healthy thankfully and the few stray molecules per part of one billion did not contribute towards " glue ear". I really think there are other issues here that have been left out of the equation. IMO. I really think this guy wants the best for and loves his child. You may say, well if youre not certain then why would you risk the health of your child?. Some of us humans, are just a little sick of people jumping to conclusions after joining the PC bandwagon and tend to think for ourselves. We hope to pass this ideology onto our offspring so they can in turn "think for themselves". It may actually save them. Thankfully I have given up smoking now and my son , through my experience hates the idea of being addicted to anything. Harmful or not.

By the time her kid could have ice cream, albeit it green tea ice cream, she had developed a preference for healthy, plain food. Now she is five years old and is always happy to pass up cake for strawberries and grapes out of her own free will. That mum with that obese boy...i think she's playing good for the cameras. There is NO WAY he is gaining that much weight from fruit, veg and water.
@adriennesmith5066 жыл бұрын
Sakura Kasugano That’s the point they were trying to make. Even though it’s healthy food he’s eating, he’s getting way too much for a five year old boy. Did you see the size of his dinner? That’s a serving for an adult man!
@RaleighBecketGipsyPilot6 жыл бұрын
No, my point was, they are feeding him unhealthy foods but playing nice for the camera and pretending all he eats is fruit and veg and lean meats. Even if you give the kid a little extra of that stuff, there is NO WAY he would gain THAT MUCH weight off it alone, have breathing problems, and become immobile. They are secretly feeding him burgers and chips, and other greasy foods, I'm sure.
@adriennesmith5066 жыл бұрын
Sakura Kasugano If she did feed him bad food constantly, I feel we would have seen him complaining about not being given that food in front of the cameras, refusing to eat his vegetables and all that. He probably did get fed unhealthy foods at times and again his servings would be way out of proportion.
@hellkat716 жыл бұрын
@@RaleighBecketGipsyPilot it's entirely possible. Some cultures fatten up their young girls (ready for marriage) on a diet that consists primarily of couscous, milk, and rice. The intake of an average 5 year old is 1200-1400 calories. Two Weetbix, 150ml semi-skimmed milk, a banana, and 1tsp sugar is a touch under 500 calories, and Leon had it as a SNACK.

Leon doesn't stand a chance with his mom. And when he gets older and the kids at his school get crueler he's going to be eating more to handle the depression because it will be one thing that makes him feel good and comfortable. It's a vicious cycle. He's young enough now where if you teach him how to eat right and the right portions of will stick. If not then it's going to be a huge lifelong struggle.

Why all are these parents blaming their children like it’s their fault? What do you mean your child HAS to have 4-5 lollipops a day and doesn’t brush his teeth before he goes to bed. HELLO YOU’RE THE PARENT! You have the control! You do the shopping! You feed your child! You are responsible for them! 🤦🏼♀️

All the problems in the world come from our ego. Whether it's blaming ourselves or the others, it's always our ego feeding itself with stupid ideas and lies and especially with the idea we have the right to do something. These parents for example, think they have the right to be happy by neglecting parenting and blaming the child for eating. Pathetic and sick.

"I just wish someone would put a camera in the corner of my house and watch my son, then come back and tell me I'm doing something wrong. Because I guarantee they won't find nothing." Umm. They did. They followed you and your son around with a camera. In the span of after school, he walked part of the way home and then was pushed in a wheelchair. Then he was given chocolate cake, a full bowl of cereal with fruit piled high, then an adult portion of fish and vegetables! He probably also had a snack before bed! Yes, five year olds generally need snacks. But that means instead of a full bowl of cereal with 2 types of fruit, a small bowl of cereal. Or just a banana and a couple strawberries. But not all three and definitely not in that portion. Cake at a school party, I can understand. But he does not then need to come home and eat ANOTHER piece of cake! Not only that, he doesn't play outside. He sat and did a puzzle, then watched tv as far as I saw! The only exercise he got once at home was throwing that tantrum and climbing into his chair for dinner. Unacceptable.
