I agree with Matt take on the coal story; I think she overreacted, and that’s coming from someone super sensitive. However, I think it’s ridiculous that her fiancé watched her purchase gifts for his family knowing that she was gonna get a bunch of coal. He definitely should’ve warned her.

@@charliedawn27 no I completely agree that the family is psycho. 18 pieces of coal, and not even at least a present for her, like sorry about all that, here’s at least a present though. I just don’t think she should have made a scene. Now she looks just as ridiculous as them. I would just never buy them gifts ever again, and never spend Christmas with them, and if they ask why. I would let them know that the coal thing hurt me and I was embarrassed, and I don’t feel welcome into their family. The “coal initiating tradition” did the complete opposite of making her feel welcome into the family.

For the coal story I don’t think it was about her not getting gifts but more that fact she was put on the spot asked to open 18 gifts and it was all coal and everyone laughed. Personally I’d rather get no gifts at all than go through that. Not to mention the fact that they said it was easier for people bc she’s knew I would kinda take that as a slap in the face

Getting stung by a bee is my first memory too Mike!! I was also 6. So…. My dad was a mechanic and would go to his friends house to work on vehicles, so being single dad of two kids, he would bring my brother and I with him. We were in the barn where my dad was working on a vehicle, I was about to fall asleep sitting in a chair when boom! A sharp sting punched me in the face (lmao). I screamed and my dad ran over, hes a smoker, and grabbed a cigarette broke it open, took some tobacco out, spit on it and put it on my sting. I was like “what the heck is that gonna do” he told me the tobacco would slowly draw out the stinger, and it actually worked! So that’s one of my first memories.

I live in South Africa and hearing Americans talk about guns is wild. Our country is by no means safe but I would never be afraid to confront a stranger in public in fear of them ripping out their gun on me. I would live with so much anxiety and fear knowing hundreds of people around me carried guns

As a person who has worked in the medical field for years & at hospitals they do not provide their employees with any holiday meals unless it is sumthing that is the floor u work on decides to do sumthing like a pot luck other than that in my experience working in the hospitals in my city NO they don't care if it's a holiday or not as long as ur at work for ur shift. It's actually very sad for us employees that we aren't more appreciated.

The hospital where I work does free lunch/dinner for the staff on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Often times people who are working the holiday will do a pot luck type thing too.

I have a story to tell about watching the episode of the podcast but before I get started on that here’s how my day went. I live in San Antonio Texas, and the weather has been really nice lately I live in an apartment by myself so on the days that I’m off I like to have my class sliding door and feel the nice breeze outside. The last few days that I have been off and doing this, I have noticed that I’ve seen a couple of bees flying in and out of my apartment. I saw three bees fly into my apartment today but didn’t mind them at first. Unfortunately, I had to step on two of them, because they would not flee the apartment. As for the last bee I thought it flew out by the time I close my glass sliding door. Around 7 o’clock this evening I was laid up on my couch watching this podcast and actually got to the portion about the lady and the bees situation, when all of a sudden I feel a prick on my forearm. Needless to say, the third bee did not escape from my apartment and was actually hiding on my couch. after swift flick to my arm I see a stinger sticking out of my forearm. What a coincidence wow hearing the story about the lady and the bees I get stung by a bee, it was not the worst thing that’s ever happened to me, but it definitely does hurt. And once the stinger is out, it itches like a motherfucker 😅

Hi friends, nurse here.. (I know its the worst when people say that) But hospitals are notoriously corrupt and disgusting places to work. ESPECIALLY for us nurses. Ask literally ANYONE in healthcare that is not a physician and they will tell you the same thing. Hospitals would literally take us out back and go "Old Yeller" on us if it meant they would save five bucks.

I’m the owner of a dance studio and I agree I would be upset! However, I just don’t think people understand what the dance world is like. It’s extremely competitive and dramatic. I wouldn’t be mad that my sibling trialed at another studio but it would be frustrating because I know every mom in the entire town would have something to say about it and it truly would make you look bad.

I don't think the person with the fear of bees and other bugs is the a-hole. If they're threatening a claims court suit, you can just counter sue and press charges for false imprisonment, harassment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. That person would definitely win both cases as her friends are stupid. As for the coal family yeah they're dumb and should take a look in the mirror. For the wedding diva yeah she's lucky to even has a father as some people aren't as fortunate. She should walk her dad down the aisle.

48:11 something similar happened to me in high school where my friends found out about my fear of a movie (not going to name it’s a horror movie) I watched it when I was 4 and I’ve been scarred ever since any way one of them organized a movie night with a couple friends and told me the movie was a “surprise” the night comes and before turning on the movie they put me in adjoining room to put on the movie and just hearing the music from the dvd menus triggered panic in me I started sobbing and saying I’m not watching it I was just going to home instead but they turned it off and said to me that they thought my fear was “just joke” shockingly I’m not friends with any of them anymore
