There's a bunch of research on deja vus, actually. One of the strongest theories is that you process the input you're presently living in the area of the brain that usually processes memories so you live the present time with the feeling that it is a memory.
@nicedward75449 ай бұрын
Deja Vu is a whole different beast for me. I have epilepsy and before a bad seizure I have the worst deja Vu that feels like impending doom. It makes me sick to the point I start to vomit. Craziest feeling ever. I do have scar tissue on my frontal lobe which is responsible for memory. I do have horrible memory problems after my motorcycle accident too. I'll forget stuff that nobody should forget.
@pinkiedlamini72989 ай бұрын
It can't just be the brain processing memories.. Deja vu makes those who believe in reincarnation even more valid and those that always feel a midsing piece in their lives and find out that someone somewhat out there is doing or feeling or thinking of the axact same thing. If you Literally stop dead in your tracks durring a moment you swear you've experienced before....it has to be that we humans are also living in rotation just like the planets. Coz where else? I feel soo much the guy struggling with jealousy! It's so taboo and so drastically condemned by society that it's really difficult to process these feelings and not to just suffocate them or avoid them. Jealousy is linked to personal insecurities and suppressing it feeds loads of other insecurities as well, creating a scaring vicious cycle 😪
@pocasanchez9 ай бұрын
Have you ever found anything to help ease jealousy? Do you have any idea where it started for you? I'm so curious bc its not something I think I've ever experienced. My childhood was garbage and I'm surprised that didn't ignite some jealousy in me but it didn't. The closest thing I've ever felt is frustration when trying to do something that's easy for everyone else. I totally get down on myself and wish I was "better" but it's never in relation to someone else. I'm just eternally losing a constant competition w myself over here lol
@Gio-sw9md9 ай бұрын
@@pocasanchez hi! What helps me is trying to rationalise it. I analyse what is making me uncomfortable to see if it is something stupid or that I have no control over it. (By stupid I mean some online dynamics that allow you to be in somebody else's life when you really aren't). I try to tell myself that what matters is the time I physically spend with others and that nobody is criticising me when I'm not there: I'm simply not there so nobody will think about me! They're going to have fun with what they have exactly as we do when I'm with them ("them" could be friends,family or significant others): focusing on the present and on the people we have around!
@Gio-sw9md9 ай бұрын
This is linked to the fact that for me jealousy is especially the "frustration of not being there", like a fear of missing out! I think is linked to the fear of people forgetting about me and, at the same time, to the fear of people judging me. I spent a lot of time in my childhood playing a sport: all my coaches were always stressing the importance of showing up to every event they organised even if you didn't have a competition in that event. With these events they were trying to gain new athletes and earn some more money, things that absolutely wouldn't have had any type of return/reward for me. My parents didn't want me to help them and so I got judged and sort of excluded by my coaches and teammates during trainings and competitions, in a subtle and consuming way. I now think that my parents were right but at the time my coach's and teammates' voices were stronger and this led to that sense of guilty and exclusion that I still feel today!
@Gio-sw9md9 ай бұрын
It's clearly not all of the story but it's everything I processed and accepted so far. Thank you for letting me have a mental sum up on my ideas about jealousy. Let me know if you understand everything (Italy) and what are your thoughts on the subject!
@pocasanchez9 ай бұрын
@Gio-sw9md @Gio-sw9md welcome, glad to be of service! Lol thanks for the insight! IMO though, I think you may be misunderstanding jealousy a bit. It sounds like you're dealing w things like maybe FOMO, social anxiety, people pleasing, being overly self-critical etc. To me, jealousy is very close to envy. It's wanting something that someone else has and may stem from something like your sister being prettier than you, or your friend getting that promotion that you really wanted, or someone dating your crush who rejected you, or seeing other peoples vacation pics and wishing that was you, ya know? Idk, maybe I'm misunderstanding you but you really don't sound like a jealous person IMO!

@mommydearest8721: It's just important to recognize what's important. Is having the butterflies your whole life an important goal? Marriage might not achieve that, but may achieve other important things that a human needs in life.
@derekg55639 ай бұрын
@mommydearest8721: I think, ideally, we would be sceptical about any mindset whether we have it or don't. Being sceptical about marriage and about being with someone forever is fine and good. However, the things that make one have doubts about that kind of thing are in themselves mindsets according to certain assumptions. My example was, roughly, assuming that having butterflies your whole life is a satisfying, realistic, important goal. We can always try to chase something that we think would be amazing, but that's not necessarily going to make us happy because of the possibility of failing to get it, or, that even when we get what we thought we wanted, eventually we don't want that anymore and start to get regrets. It's worth at least considering those considerations. It need not be that way, but the way to avoid this problem is to be aware of the assumptions you're making about a good life, whether they are traditional assumptions or the total opposite or somewhere in between. We make assumptions and we don't want to get trapped in them. "The unexamined life is not worth living," regardless of whether your life fits a tradition or not. Don't let tradition or anything else cloud or deter your introspection. Perhaps you could communicate to your spouse about your situation, and maybe you two would agree about how it's going, and perhaps that mutual understanding in itself could be a connection that you share, in that you both understand the challenges that the other is going through, and just knowing that someone gets that makes it easier, even if on the individual level, it's not easy for either of you.

I think from a young age we are taught that marriage is a must do and we can’t be happy and without it we can be happy. Happiness is an individual experience some can be happy married and others love the freedom of being single. Finding what works for your heart is what’s important not what others think you should do

For the deja vu thing, I once heard that it’s the version of you from a parallel universe that’s doing the exact same thing at the same time as you in this universe. So the lines kinda “cross” and that’s why you get that feeling. I LOVE that, and I’ve gone with that answer since lol
@ijustneedmyself9 ай бұрын
I read an article that said it's possible deja vu happens when the brain misinterprets the current moment as a memory hence the feeling that it has happened before.

We definitely need more trash cans! I understand logistically it would require more workers to empty them, but it's so needed! Not just in big cities either. If we give people more places to throw things out, maybe they wouldn't litter as much.

When I was a kid - raised by a single-working-mom - I spent summers with my grandparents (mom had to work during my summer break). Consequently, I was around my grandparents' friends. Seeing what marriage turns into after 30-40 years shaped how I saw 'til death do us part'. These were not happy people. They were generally annoyed with - and resentful of - each other. The Oscar Levant quote "Marriage is a triumph of habit over hate" - while seemingly pessimistic - has a lot of truth to it. Some marriages are great....but a lot more are soul-suckers. I relate to the lady at 7:10.
@Hockey-jk9kc9 ай бұрын
To the person @7:13 - My wife and I have very different vows from anyone else I know. They say we will stay together "[...]as long as we compliment each other's happiness and are healthy for one another." We also based our vows off of a quote from Lord Elrond of Rivendell in Lord of the Rings which says “No oath or bond is laid on you to go further than you will. For you do not yet know the strength of your hearts, and you cannot foresee what each may meet upon the road.” By this, we are not married and promised to each other "til death do us part," but instead we are married for as long as we want. Yes, people can and do change. We accept this, and if we do part ways, its ok. It is part of life. Divorce/ parting ways is not a bad thing. Divorce/ parting ways is better than staying in an unhealthy marriage. Now this doesn't mean we just give up at the first hardship. We have gone through several hardships since getting married 2 years ago. And yes, I would be very sad if we parted ways, but we acknowledge that people change, and that is ok. We have the ability to parts ways and go upon our own chosen path. Also want to note we are both atheists so we are truly not bound by any promise to any god to stay together longer than we want. Write your own vows. Make life what you want it to be. You do not have to do what everyone else says you should do. We certainly didn't. I love our vows, and I think it is a beautiful thing 💚

I so agree with the last lady @07:10. I am a hopeless romantic but have always questioned the institute of marriage. I feel like it’s a trap. Who wants to stay with someone for the rest of their lives out of obligation or duty? Is that what love is? We can commit without promising to be with someone forever. People fall out of love, become disenchanted, fall for other people, or change their minds. We should allow ourselves that and allow others the same. There’s nothing like being with someone simply because you *want* to be. Like she said, some relationships do last a lifetime, some don’t. The notion of “living in sin” is antiquated and silly. I don’t believe relationships are sanctified by marriage. Was marriage instituted by man or by GOD? I honor and respect marriage, marriages, married people, and their vows. I think it’s wrong to mess around with someone’s husband or wife or for married people to cheat unless their spouse is aware and okay with it. 👰🏾🤵🏾 💍

@13letras8 ай бұрын
I understand what death is since I was 5 years old but I'm not afraid. In my case, it will be a relief. It would be better if I had never existed (and my wish is to disappear without leaving a trace since I never wanted to be here) My only fear is the PROCESS of dying: I can't stand any kind of PHYSICAL pain. Mental suffering is bad enough
@fitwesdaily8 ай бұрын
@@13letras Even though I'm against death, I also wish I hadn't existed and that I didn't have to experience mental or physical suffering. I fluctuate between being suicidal for reasons most people would consider nonsense and being ok with things even though logically it doesn't make sense. I only feel true comfort when I believe that I will one day, somehow, make death a choice.
@13letras8 ай бұрын
@@fitwesdaily I have a very clear reason why suicide is the only possible way out of a no-win situation. The problem is that I'm a coward because: a) I'm afraid of pain; b) I'm afraid of surviving with sequelae (my biggest fear) I don't think I will ever have the courage to make death a choice. But I'm genuinely envious of those who have it. Unfortunately, my physical health has always been excellent, so it is likely that I will die at a very old age.

Am I the only one who loves people? I don't know, it feels like it's cool to say stuff like "humans are the worst" or "I hate people" every time something remotely annoying happens, like it's lame to admit that we have so much beauty in our kind. I get it, of course. It's hard to look at the bright side when the bad is so overwhelming, but then I look at videos like this and I feel so much love for people I've never met. I think they're beautiful, I think they're unique, I think they're kind, and I love how different they are from eachother, cause that's what's so great about humans. When I watch videos like this I just feel at peace.

I just want to say to the 3. guys who are afraid that they won't have real friends. I mean, if you've been friends for a long time, and it's true that you annoy your friends, I think it's like having a family - sometimes some of them annoy you from time to time, but in a lovely way they seem to accept you, no matter what you are doing or have something that annoys them. It's love! And I have some friends who upset me for so, so many times, but I still love them and accept them and spend time with them. Some of them I don't see sometimes for a long time, but they are still my friends. And it took me a long time to realize that you can be imperfect and still deserve love! ❤

If the last girl who is cynical about marriage can release herself from the societal pressure to find a husband, I think she could be quite happy having a string of shorter term relationships that set her sole on fire, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Not everyone has to subscribe to the same relationship model.

Except at 40 50 60 70 80 and if you are lucky 90.....there is no family community .Love and connection is not meant to be a soul fire passionate thing. It is a stage in nature. Look at how you feel about your best friends for guidance .
