how I understand that saying, is that meeting new people cause conflicts to the ones you have now (old friends) idk like it conflicts with everything, other's getting jealous, no time to hangout with others, but that's how I understand it. There's a deeper say or meaning, I just cant seem to find the words.

I just talked to my older sister about this yesterday. We both have chronic genetic health problems, and she said, "I just remind myself someone always has it worse" & I told her that I hate that saying, because each person's pain is fully individual, and to say someone has it worse, though it may technically be right, invalidates the individual's struggle. ✌️

I hate that people compare there issue, like "You don't need to be upset". "stop overreacting" Like I'm no. People have there own problems some people can be upset about little things. Like the person who's dog died, that one simple thing, triggered so many other larger things in her mind. So don't give people shit.

Last year, I lost my job and my husband confessed he was having an affair and ending the marriage in the same week. Then I lost my home when I had to move back to the USA two days after the breakup. As a result, I lost my perceived future, my identity, my sense of self worth. I felt like I lost everything and I wasn’t going to make it through alive because all I felt was despair. To anyone reading this and struggling, you can get through this. Half the battle is showing up and you can do it.

I was 14 when I was first diagnosed with a cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma. I ended up going through a very traumatic experience, ending up with my left breast being taken. It was upsetting, but I stayed strong. But in December of 2018, my grandma passed away on the 30th, this was the most devastating day of my life. My grandma was alway there for me when I was in the hospital and she would cook for me. She was my whole inspiration to finish out strong, but once she left, I just felt like I couldn’t do it anymore, I was sad that she wasn’t there to see me ring the bell when I finished my chemo cycles. I’m 16, about to be 17 and I accomplished so much. I promised her at her funeral that I would finish school and go to college to become an oncologist.

Me too. It is horrible. I struggled for years and years but everything ended when I turned to God. I wish everyone that experiences this hell (because it is hell) to experience the healing love of God. Now I still have a lot of downs but deep inside me I know that God is always there and when I truly stop being angry at Him He never lets me down. I hope that you don't see this comment as an attempt to convince you of anything but as a testimony of what healed me and got me out of this mess. Peace

I've seen this video before, but I watched it again last night when I was getting into a dark place while reflecting on how lonely I was at this time last year, and that quote really hit me. I'm not in that space anymore and I'm not lonely for the first time in years, so it was just tough to look back on that. But that's all I'm doing: looking at it, not feeling it. It's not in my life anymore, but I can reflect back on it and I'm going to talk about how I felt at that time with my best friend to bring me more closure. You just never know how your life will change and how much it will change. I never expected to feel loved and not lonely last year, but I made it out. I'm not lonely anymore.

Almost my life when I overdosed in 2016. I still couldn't stop so I wanted to give up and accepted the fact that I would die that way. I managed to get into a long term program...I have been clean for 2 years now and also welcomed my 1st child last year. My family might've been taken from me but I got something back, my son...and my life♡ I'm so glad I didn't give up or I would've never experienced sobriety or being a mother. The time I felt like completely giving up was my junior year of high school (I’m a freshman in college now). I lived a perfectly good life, I was cheer captain, captain of the girls track, I had a supportive family, and the best friends you could ask for; but it was my lowest time. I was in pretty advanced classes but I truly felt like a fish out of water. I didn’t feel smart enough to be with the people around me, and they all seemed to have a good idea of what they want for their future. And me, I had no clue. I felt so lost and While everyone else seemed to be going forward into their future, I felt like I was standing still and being left behind. I isolated myself a lot which only made my sadness worse. I lost all motivation and would legitimately cry almost daily. And when my mom asked what was wrong or what she could do to help me, I could never put my feelings into words. I didn’t know exactly why I was feeling so sad when my life was so good. In the end I graduated high school, got into a nice college, and I still don’t know what I want to do with my life, but I’m learning that that’s ok. I see now that there’s so many people who feel the same way as I do and that really helps me.

thoughts like these also deserve recognition. as you said - you do have a good life but that doesnt exclude that you can be at a very low point as well. you're allowed to be at that point taking your time to realise what you really wanna do in life. take it step by step, one day at a time. the best advice i can give you: let it happen. don't let your insecurities drown you. learn to work with them instead if against them. sending love x

My solution is apathy. Can't lose people if you don't get close to them, can't be scared of not being good enough if you never try to measure up, can't be scared of a future that you aren't looking to, and can't be scared of no purpose when you realize that there is none. Some might say this is "unhealthy", well look around at the world, what is "healthy"? Just because something is a cultural norm, doesn't mean it's good for you

I was diagnosed with severe depression around 4 years ago. Around that time, i had a lot of messed up things happen in my life that made me want to end it, multiple times. It was a lot of feeling like nothing mattered, and that i was alone and it wouldn’t change anyone else’s life if i took my own. Now, i can say i’m doing so much better. My life isn’t great and neither is my mental health, but it’s good. If you’re struggling, just know you are not alone, and you are not weak if you need help. If you’re looking for a sign, this is it. Suicide will not end your problems, even if it feels like it. You are loved. You are important.

My parents think depressing isn’t a thing but they don’t know I’m depressed. Sometimes when we are talking about depression they say that I shouldn’t be depressed because they think I ‘live the best live’

They clearly don't understand it's not a choice for everyone to just "Not be depressed." I'm not sure how old you are or what kind of support you have available, but look to friends, famous people you admire that give off positive vibes, maybe books or TV or something fictional can help you escape your depression and your parents' non-belief in it. If none of that works for you, I'm here and I'll do my best!

Happened to me a couple years ago, i am not completely okay, but i'm a little bit more motivated now, i have dreams and one of them is having my own place and leave my parents' house and my country, i love them but we have a lot of different ideas, and i feel like i would have a better relationship with them if we would live in different places. I plan to do whatever i have to do to live peacefully by my own, doing what i like in my own space, and finally take some therapy to be better with myself, because i don't wanna keep struggling alone.

Sometimes people around you have no idea about how your life is, how you feel. My oldest sister always said to me: “You have no reason to be depressed, your childhood was much easier than mine, you have everything!“ She had no idea about what I was feeling, how my day to day life was ☺ And her statement wasn't helpful at all.

You're right. It can be very difficult for long periods of time. Staying present helps immensely. I don't dwell on the past (too depressing) and I don't think about the future, (anxiety).....I work hard every hour of the day at being present in whatever I'm doing.

The time (the only real time in my life actually) that I felt like completely giving up was when my ex-girlfriend split up with me. To cut a long story short we were together for a year and a half, she was the absolute love of my life. She made me feel so happy, so alive, she made me feel like I could do anything. She was my first love, and only love so far in my life. Things were perfect, but one day we had an argument over facebook messenger and she told me that she didn't think she wanted to be with me anymore. I asked why, she wouldn't give a straight answer, and was being incredibly nasty to me for no reason. Eventually she said she'd come over in three days and we'd talk and and sort things out and get through it (we'd gotten through rough times before and always came out stronger somehow, so I thought we could do it again, but in the back of my mind I knew what was coming). Three days went by, longest days of my life, then it got to three days later, it was a Friday, she said she'd come over in the afternoon/evening. Hours and hours went by and nothing, I knew she wasn't coming, then around 8pm that night i got a message on facebook from her and it was to dump me. Not even face to face, to a girl I gave the world to for a year and a half, who only weeks before told me how much she wanted to spend the rest of her life with me. I wrote her a letter to try and win her back and get her to see me in person. She agreed, we met and she told me that there may still be a future for us, she just needed some time. We went our separate ways and after a few weeks I couldn't wait any longer and asked what was going on with us, but then she said it was a 100% over and she was sorry, but she hadn't changed her mind and wasn't going to, and that was that. I kept pleading but she blocked me. That was almost a year ago and I haven't spoken to her since. That is what killed me, not the initial break up, but the confirmation that that was really it, and I'd never spend another moment in life with her again. It honestly felt like an overnight break up. One day I had her, then the next she was gone. It was like I was in the best dream ever, but then I woke up and none of it really mattered in the end. I lost her, i quit my job a few days before to pursue freelance videography and do all of the things that the job I hated prevented me from doing. I was looking forward to spending much more time with her as well, as the job made it difficult for me to be there for her sometimes, but I wasn't going to let that happen anymore. I worked for a lifecoach/Personal trainer for 3 months making videos for her brand/website, but I was so depressed and sad that she thought I was unmotivated and wasn't enjoying the work. I told her I was going through a hard time, and she seemed understanding and apologetic, but by December she let me go, just stopped contacting me. I had nothing, no girlfriend, no money, no job, I honestly contemplated suicide. My friends and family were amazing, but sometimes there is only so much they could do. I eventually got a part time job, then started to apply like mad for jobs in the Film and TV industry, after a couple months I got an interview and started the job in April this year. I was recently promoted and the job is going very well as it's in the industry I want to be in. I've been writing a lot of scripts as that's a passion of mine, as I desire to be a director and writer one day. My career is going well, I'm the healthiest I've ever been due to the gym and good food, I'm writing scripts all the time that I'm really proud of, I'm sleeping well, I'm going to so many gigs and festivals and enjoying life. I'm doing well. It honestly took about 10 months to start feeling good again, and since July I've been doing well. Of course the whole experience will always linger, and I definitely still have love for her, but I'm getting on with my life. I'm still here, my friends and family are amazing and I'm feeling really hopeful about the future, for the first time in a long time. It's been almost a year since I lost her, and lost myself also, but at least I got the most important one of those two back, and that is me. I'm proud of myself for making it this far, it's been the hardest year of my life and I almost gave up on even being alive, let alone truly living. Things always get better, this experience has taught me that. Surround yourself with friends and family, chase your dreams, but accept that feeling sad is okay, ball your eyes out, let it all out, the anger, the sadness, the frustration, the longing for what is lost, and hold on to the comforting notion that one day, you'll smile again, and it'll be real.

Or when I lost my younger brother little over 2 yrs ago...I just didn't feel like I belonged anymore, cause I had just lost my first best friend, my partner in crime, my right hand man, my everything...but now, I still don't feel like I belong, but I do know that I have the best Guardian Angel looking after me...
