recovery rate from status ailments is based on your luck stat. also, to anyone wondering why gale solo for dds2, it's because party members will leave your party frequently and gale stays in your party the longest. even when he does leave, he's gone for like one room. this makes him the only real candidate for a solo run. one major con to this is that you cannot choose how his stats allocate when he levels up. one major pro is that he gets (arguably) the best magic skill which is exclusive to him in the game.

​@DeadAndDeaf Pretty much any game that uses Luck as a stat. Luck also almost always modifies the rate that skills with percentage chances land. Games where this isn't true include the PS2 Persona games. SMT1&2 also make Intelligence the primary %chance stat. Luck is probably at its most important in regard to statuses in SMT5 and Soul Hackers 2. People think Luck matters for criticals, but it really only matters for that in any significant way in SMT4.

I think my favorite part of this challenge is your edits to the game. Half of them feel like something that would actually be in the game. Case and point, the fact that gui xian actually bicker like sans and papyrus do is ACTUALLY in the game, and now I'm questioning what else was actually in the game and not edited in.

Yeah I had a feeling before even watching the video that Deus going to be skipping that one. I mean it was a dark miracle that Robin/Zephyr was able to do that in Human Form, but with just Serph? Unless an exploit is found, I just don't think our magatama-slurping friend is giving Deus enough options to pull something like that off

I'm 100% he has tried, but I would not be surprise if it was just imposible. Since he would need to tank everything at -4, win every Mudoon roll, get the sleep, and keep up with the demons 30 turn timer. Which is honestly so absurd I don't think it might be posible even with exploids.

It took me THIS long to realize the names of the characters are references to the five elements in the game. Serph(Surf) = Ice/Water Heat = Fire (Duh) Argilla(Italian for "clay") = Earth Gale = Wind/Force(also duh) Cielo (Italian for "sky"/"heaven") = Electricity

The Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2 are some the most fun Megami Tensei spinoff games I've played in a while. Regarding the best way to start playing this game, emulating it on PCSX2 via PC. I personally played on my PS2 slim hardware for an authentic experience and it was definitely worth it playing the games on my 27 inch CRT TV. :)

You still technically have a fight in this game you havent beaten. In new game plus, in the room your dropped into when you walk in front of a wrong painting, you will find a door that leads to the hardest boss in the game. Lets hope you dont need to go through dozens of new game plus cylces if you try it.

I did something like this a while ago to decrease the amount of noise grinding I stopped the solo run right before the brute’s base. The hardest fight for me where the second bat fight and the forced wisp fight in the ship.
