This is the first time I have seen her family, and as I grieve with them, I cannot Help but be completely Elated by her loving brother's Testimony that Amanda trusted Jesus the CHRIST. Some think that it is just nice religious words. But it is the difference between life and eternal Death. 1998: I met Amanda in Phoenix, Arizona at the Sterling Crown Hotel as she was set to return home, we got to chat by ourselves (which was nice, no one pressing in on her) She made me feel like a Million Dollars, in Gold. What can I say, I have met many famous people and she was refreshing. I said Hey! I don't normally do this, but could you sign this for me? She looked at me and smiled bigger, took thge ticket outta my hand and put it on my shoulder and signed it! Amanda smiled and Said "Thanks Babe, you made my day!" UUuugh!! Then she kissed me on the cheek. I felt like Charlie Brown watch the little red headed girl driving off waving at me with her fingers by her cheek, and the feeling of being kissed on the cheek. Standing there, Wow! I was blushing, she made my year! And I think about her being there with my sister and my late Fiancee and all other saints with CHRIST dining and singing and living in joy in the Empire the country of HEAVEN. As for her brother being comforted by the fact that Amanda "trusted in Jesus Christ" when she passed?, Hey whatever eases the pain of this poor girl's untimely death. What happen to this talented beauty's career and life was an undeniable travesty....the girl had it all, and like you witnessed first hand: she was also very likable and down to earth...from everything I can tell. Terrible that her addictions and traumas were not effectively treated and jumped on quickly. And I don't blame anybody....Hollywood is a cesspool that is ready to pounce given the opportunity. It appears the parents/family were, understandably, not prepared for the influences on her that set this troubled life of addiction in motion. Whether it was an agent, a manager whoever...somebody should've been there to keep her away from it, to look out for her. But the bottomline is my friend, she should still be here. And whether it was in Hollywood or not, she should have had a successful life. For everything that this girl had going for her from the outset, its very sad to see how big she lost in the end....tragic in fact. And whether you can tell or not, I have nothing but empathy for her and her family....but "the trust in Jesus Christ" stuff doesn't make me feel any better in what happened to her. But that is a great encounter you had with her. Wish I had that opportunity. In 1998, she had already left Hollywood but the effects of it were just getting started. I would hope you like many already have learned eternity is much more important than the destination compared to the temporary also quick time on Earth. When I was a kid I was obsessed with Can't Buy Me Love. I thought Amanda was the most beautiful young women I'd ever seen. I wanted to BE her or at least Cindy Mancini. Amanda was the standard of beauty to me. I thought she must have had the most perfect life. And I always wondered why she didn't continue acting after that movie. Now that I'm adult, I think about that little girl... things are often not what they appear. Beauty is only skin deep. It's sad to think about the trauma and pain she suffered in her life. I hope her family, especially her child, have found peace.
