Twenty-five-year-old Amanda says that from ages 10 to 25, she was molested over 795 times by her father, Earl Nix, a secret she says she was forced to keep for nearly a decade. She says since she finally revealed it to her family, they called her a pathological liar and refused to believe her, despite Earl being convicted of first degree criminal sexual conduct. In any child abuse, police should look at the mother, and her obligation to protect. Mothers should knoe, and protect their children. Laws are too lenient, in that respect, legal aspect of motherly duty to protect should be taken more seriously. Those mothers, for whom it's proven they knew, should be put in jail for a long time. I was 7 years old and witnessed or rather, walked in on a 40ish year old man was raping a 3 year old. I didn’t know what technically it was called, but I know pain and hurt. It is what I was drawn in for. The crying. The next 3 years of my life I was given a daily and scary reminder to keep my mouth shut. The man wouldn’t leave me alone. He was my mother’s best friend’s husband. I learned to keep my mouth shut through my own molestation, then gang rape, then through ANY kind of abuse you can think of. My family did everything in their power to keep me silent too. There was no NORMAL in my world. It has taken me 30 years to break the dissonance to learn peace. The child’s mind is SO malleable. It does affect them throughout their entire lives. Most of you toxic people are from a brutal childhood. BUT so are the empathic ones. It created who you are. You have a choice as an adult. To let your abuse and your REACTIONS dictate your life or to strive for that peace in harmony in your own. ❤

@@jessicaj8564 she told her grandmother, finally. She was 19 when it come out. Her whole childhood stolen. He’s still in prison. He is to be released soon. I don’t know the details, but he got 30 years, but she’ll pay the rest of her life. I was quiet and scared to tell anyone. I can’t even begin to imagine the courage she had. When you live your life in survival mode, it’s hard to look outside your own bubble, but there are people who have endured so much more than you can imagine. This was 30 years ago when I found out that he was put in prison. I lived 1500 miles away and I instantly felt relieved. It wasn’t until I was an adult, did I understand the magnitude of it all. I carried shame for so long. If you let it, it will make you unhealthy. It took me a long time to finally get that. I’ve lost contact over the years but she is often in my thoughts and prayers. I guess I be been thinking more about it since he is to be released soon. He is an around 80 year old now… I pray that he doesn’t get a chance to destroy anyone else’s life.

I believe her daughter. I believed my children when they told me about the sexual abuse which happened twice. I tried twice to put their first abuser away but they came up with the excuse that because my oldest couldn't remember where we were living at the time, the case got thrown out. The second abuser is doing 30 to life thanks to my detective work. Their first abuser is now suffering with Parkinson's disease and other serious health problems.

I have a friend that went through the same thing in her family. They blame her for causing trouble in the family, even though she continued so he would leave a younger sister alone. He also had used her older sister u til she married young and moved away. They all chose to side with the father. And exclude her entirely, even at the death of her mother. She wasn’t allowed to attend the memorial.

My second wife was raped and impregnated by her stepfather when she was 12. Apparently the assaults had been going on since she was ten. Her mother took her to Equador to have an abortion. The mother accused the daughter of having seduced the stepfather and she stayed married to this man while her daughter had to remain living in the household. It's unspeakably disgusting. The daughter ended u going to the police when she was an adult and the stepfather was charged and sentenced to five years in prison.
