Well said. I used to be Amanda Seales. So I see her viewpoint AND the bigger picture. I’ve definitely had to learn how to present my perspective and my knowledge with more couth, more class, more grace and more strategically. Other people’s opinions and feelings matter just as much as mine. 😐 I had to learn that even though I might not be “wrong” sometimes I still can be offensive, sometimes I can overstep other people’s boundaries and it’s because I like to be in control. Used to like it anyway. A lot has changed and I haven’t lost who I am. In fact I’m a much higher representation of myself. She can do the same and not lose who she is as well. She is an acquired taste. Not for everyone, but I understand it. Gifted ppl find out quickly that they need to be their own boss. They don’t always play well with others. But why should they? They’re gifted. But, the problem with that is, that it can become lonely and burdensome if they don’t learn to be more amiable with others in order to reach their goal. My son, who God took at 29, when he was younger said something profound to me. It was because 😢I was similar to Amanda, an overachiever who wanted to see the positive in folks and not the negative. He said, Mom, there are more of them than there is of us. See he too was a big personality, loving, a straight shooter. He LOVED. You know, truly loved and sadly, like me, that love we have wasn’t always returned. In fact, many were threatened by it. Amanda, I get you. In my youth, like you, I wasn’t liked lol and like you, didn’t know what I’d done. I too would shrink myself so others felt better. But Chile, God grew me up and showed me who He created me to be. Long story short, today, I don’t play! I am me. No more shrinking to build up your low self esteem. You got a problem, go to God, your creator.
