Amanda Seales Done Protecting Issa Rae & Talks About Issa Not Empowering Women
Shannon Sharpe: I had Lil Rel and he says that Issa, most of her set is with women; camera people, etc, etc. And that she's very empowering to women.
Amanda Seales: I disagree. She wasn't empowering to me. She didn't feel like I deserved to be protected... I have still always protected her because I felt like it is my responsibility to do so, but I realize now it is not.

Amanda said something key , she said when you’re sure of yourself people feel small and have issues with you. I never understood why trouble seemed to always find me even when I stayed to myself. People do not like when you do not need or seek validation and find contentment in who God made you to be. I wish I could tell her I see her and how much we value her in our community. She’s too real for the community she is in💛

Always remember the story with Oprah Winfrey and Whoppi Goldberg. For years they didn't speak. They happened to be at the same function. Whoppi went and sought Oprah out at the event and Whoopi asked her, "Did I do something to you, did I say something that offended you?" Oprah was shocked and said to Whoppi, " No, I was told you had a problem with ME!" They are friends now and a lesson was learnt. Put rumors aside and speak to the person directly.

I can totally relate to how Amanda feels. Her light is intimidating to those who feel insecure within themselves. Her tribe will embrace her energy, but most people live in a false reality, and despise the truth because the truth requires people to keep it real with themselves. Everyone isn’t ready to deal with the truth. When real energy hits the scene, people who can’t deal with reality will be offended and do everything possible to take out the “threat”. Her energy is the threat which is why people tell her she needs to change. They want HER to change so that THEY can feel comfortable.

True her mom is the blame here because her gift is also her curse. It’s odd that Amanda References the 48Laws bits fails to apply Law 04: Always Say Less Than Necessary to her own life. Which contradicts the very thing Amanda credit as her greatest strength. I find it odd that Amanda never realized the importance of the law. I finally understand why people don't like her. I personally like Amanda. Its her intelligence. I LOOOOOOVE to listen to her talk; I could listen to her speak all day. I think her natural, God given talent is "teacher". She has an abundance of wisdom and is a natural leader. She's an "alpha female" if you believe in that kind of thing. (I don't) However, I took note of how many times she cut this gentleman off or wouldnt let him speak. She didnt mean anything by it, but I could see how that would rub someone the wrong way. She probably comes off as a "know it all" to her peers. Pair that with self surety and confidence and yes, people will be rubbed the wrong way. Its a mix of her and others. Its not all her fault and its not all other peoples fault.

Amanda Seales is an example of BW passive aggression towards light skin & bi-racial women 🤷🏾‍♀️

I love that she is sharing her lived experience and some of us can relate its got nothing to do with being a celebrity, its real life.

She’s been in the business for 32 yrs on major shows. They should truly show her way more respect because she worked for it and still looks amazing.

Nobody can work with her. Issa Rae let her come on her show insecure, and she immediately started acting like it was her show.

The insecure set sounded toxic AF for her. Show about friendship and she was excluded on set. Everybody in the cast was at Issa wedding but Amanda

It's a workplace lol. They're there to act, no be friends. Maybe Issa doesn't like Amanda. Amanda continued to be in Insecure until the final season. Don't mean they were friends.

This is sad. We all need to do better. It's ok if you don't care or like a person. But to try and ruin their career or put them in a negative light is not right.
