You’re so welcome Cindy! So glad you’re enjoying the course content as well 🙌 You can definitely use one light and a 50m! If you watch the rest of the tutorial in the course (under the Styling section) there’s a BTS example of using one light. Let me know if you have any questions! X

This was super helpful, thank you! One question however, do your clients reimburse you for purchasing ingredients for your photo shoots? And if so is that something you discuss with them during pre-production?
@amandacampeanu2 жыл бұрын
So glad you enjoyed it! They do yes! They’re aware from the start there might be a prop budget required based on their brief they send back to us. I’ll always add fresh fruit to their final invoice which they pay prior to receiving the photos 😊

Hi! I always see product photographers using 2 lights, 1 key light and 1 light with a diffuser to compensate shadows. If I currently have only 1 studio light, what setup would you recommend? Hard Light + Reflector on the opposite side or Light with a diffuser + Reflector on the opposite side? Also, how do you avoid the brand/logo to be blown out when using a hard light as a key light? Thanks!
@amandacampeanu Жыл бұрын
Depends if you want hard shadows as to whether you use a diffuser or not. If you’re only using one light you’d have some kind of bounce card on the opposite side of your scene to help lift your shadows. To avoid anything being blown out it’s a matter of placing your light at the right height and angle so this doesn’t happen. And ensuring your camera and light settings are nicely balanced (e.g your scene isn’t overexposed).

what lighting set ups would you recommend for beginners getting into product photography? One light with continuous and strobe or that and an extra light with continuous
@amandacampeanu8 ай бұрын
You don’t want to use strobe with continuous as the strobe lights will just drown out the continuous lights. The Godox AD200pro speedlites are a great price and quite powerful! Totally depends on what your budget is at the end of the day but I’d recommend to allocate as much budget to lighting as you can as good lighting really does make a huge difference ☺️

@Stephanie-vh8ru2 жыл бұрын
Can't wait to use these, Amanda! Do you show us inside the course how you photoshopped the label from the different image onto the bottle for the last concept? Curious what things we'd need to take into consideration like angles, distance from the product, etc.
@amandacampeanu2 жыл бұрын
So glad you found it helpful! I don’t have a specific tutorial for that exact image but I do show you how to composite photos together. It really comes down to matching your lighting between photos and ensuring it doesn’t look like it’s just copy pasted on 😊
@TheMash842 жыл бұрын
Just my personal opinion, but I think the props market/manufacturers are speculating a little bit too much on the prices. A plexy glass tray of that size shouldn't cost 173$! It's just plexiglass (which is expensive by itself, I know), laser cut, and glued together. If you do a lot of work like this it will repay for sure, but honestly, it shouldn't cost a leg.

I am going to strt my own candle business. Any tips from fellow business owners. Regarding photography, marketing, customer services or packaging
@amandacampeanu Жыл бұрын
How exciting about the new business! If you're going to be doing your own product photography, invest in a good light or choose a time of day that will give you the best natural light in your home (if shooting from home) so that your photos remain consistent in aesthetic and style. Keep things super minimal with props and try to evoke an emotion with your photography.

@@amandacampeanu thanks for ur help. Can u give me tips on dark photography. Like how should i setup if i want dark themed photos
@StancyNova Жыл бұрын
@@shahminahil9578 if you want to create dark moody images you can use dark backdrops, dark props, and light your products from the side/back. You can use a reflector or a white board/piece of paper to bounce the light on the dark side of your products to make sure they are clearly visible. Do not underexpose your photos, so nothing on the image should be pitch-black. Make sure your brand's name and logo are always clearly visible. it makes sense to do that in photoshop if not possible to achieve on the shoot. Hope that helps!

When I did a product photo with a dropper on the side of the bottle I used some sticky double-sized tape. Not always possible to balance. You can also use a fishing line and hang it from above
