Your little apple pies from the pie iron look SO yummy! My family had some pie irons when I was a kid, and Mom just used a couple of pieces of wheat bread for the crust. She buttered the outside of the bread and soaked some dried apricots to soften them and that was the filling. The pie iron cut the crusts off and sealed the bread. She also sprinkled powdered sugar on them. They were delicious! :)

Aaaahhhh, meat touched by wood fire... now THAT is FOOD!! 👍❤🤤 Time spent outdoors, food for the SOUL. I think I will be going to the Payson, AZ area, to which I have never been. Sooo looking forward to it!

@@amanda.outside I got to spend 2 weeks in Kentucky & Tennessee this month, to neither of which had I ever been, and wow! Sooo pretty & so very different from out there, even just walking the shoreline of a lake and the types of rocks you might find underfoot. Pie irons are one of my favorites camp tools! Pie iron "quesadillas" is a use of them. Just precook the seasoned meat and/or veggies before the trip and store in the cooler. Wrap in a burrito sized tortilla with cheese and whatever other toppings you like, reheat and brown over the fire. It's a super easy first night meal and there is virtually no clean up.

How much camera magic goes into not showing any people? :D or is it seriously so empty and isolated? The place looks absolutely stunning and from the shots it's like you have it all to yourselves, while still having amenities like the fire pit and the bench and table... looks perfect so I wonder how many people use it.
