I'm so glad you mentioned the Perpetual Calendar! Most reviewers just skip over it or toss it aside. It makes me sad, because this is one of my favorite EC items, too. I use one for what book I'm reading and pages each night. I know I'm not reading enough if I look there and several days have gone by without an entry. I love your idea for tracking chronic illness. I have auto immune disorders and my doctor is always asking when/how long I've had a certain symptom and I never really know because I live with it every day and forget. But thank you for another great review! I am switching to a horizontal neutral this year from a vertical neutral. I'm nervous, but excited for a new approach to every day.

My opinion has changed on these since the launch - the curved edges were playing with my mind. I love the kaleidoscope design - definitely her best! I've ordered a happy planner this year because I fell in love with the Rong Rong designs and also because the EC planner costs nearly £100 to get shipped to UK, but...after seeing your walkthrough, I think I love the horizontal neutral!

This video was beautifully done! I ended up getting the neutral vertical a few weeks ago. I'm currently using the colorful hourly & I like it. After seeing the new hourly minus the half hours & with the color blocks, I ended up deciding to go back to the vertical. Trying to decide between the colorful & the neutral was pretty hard, but ended up with the neutral. I'm so happy with the neutral! The pastel colors grew on me after a little while. I really wanted to do a "frankenplanner", but was not able to afford 2 planners. We shall see what they come up with next year.

I feel Erin C improvements are appreciated, at least I like the changes. 18-months in the binder system is a lot of product to for the price. The system is offering versatility. All the planner's are providing so many useful pages, verses fluff

Here's how you deal with the half hour time. If you have to be somewhere at 6:30 a.m. or 6:30 pm. You should be there by 6 PM. I learned this from friends in the military. If you're on time you're late if your 15 to 20 minutes early you're on time. So that's one of the things that has helped me adapt. Plus if you use public transportation. Like if you live in a big city like New York or LA or Chicago. You definitely want to leave at least 30 minutes to an hour early before your appointment time. Another thing is that it gives you time to get there get settled and breathe a little bit. Process what you're about to do maybe meditate a little bit. Don't let the half-hour increments throw you off. Trust me it will help relieve a lot of stress.

@@AmandasFavorites to be honest. I have a little brother with autism and a son with Asperger's. So one of the things I did when they were both younger is help them develop time management skills. Because one of the things about being in the autism spectrum is that they developed patterns very quickly. So it all comes down to getting your kids started at a young age to Value time. I always like to think that human beings, regardless of how we are born called, are capable of the same things we just do it in different ways

Beeest video review! I'm getting the yearly for tracking spending in colorful vertical, stealing the gratitude idea, the teacher planner most likely for lesson plans, and I'm debating getting the 18 month for fitness tracking. Do you recommend another planner for fitness and health goals

I personally have used IWP horizontal for Food and fitness tracking (when I do track;) I like the layout and the 3 boxes and the 3 habit trackers that come with each month. I have also used the EC horizontal for the same purpose....it's happier (colors & design wise) but doesn't have as much room as IWP per day and the 3 boxes that help me;) I haven't reviewed a lot of fitness/food planners. Commit 30 has one I reviewed, and Life and Apples (you can search those up on my channel sear bar;) But for some reason I really prefer a normal planner with a horizontal spread for my purposes:) Loved hearing about what you will use each layout for!

This was a great video. There are not many binder reviews out there. This is my 3rd year with EC. My plan was to order the binder system as soon as my credit card closed. I'm not too sure about that as I am currently having a problems with their shipping. I have waited an entire month for an academic planner which I ordered for my granddaughter but I still have not received it, despite several contacts with the company.

Nice review! Well, I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm pretty much sold on the colorful horizontal AND I'm looking forward to it. I haven't ordered yet but I will eventually (hopefully sooner than later so I can take it out of its box from time to time before the new year and flip through it and smell it and get all moon-eyed over it cuz that's what I do). Ya know, I'm thinking maybe that was my problem...the vertical just isn't pleasing to me...and that's why I didn't use it this year. I felt too squeezed in or something. Being a Moleskine planner gal at heart, the horizontal is just more my style. Garth (Wayne's World) sums it up perfectly for me when talking about how he and Wayne feel about change, "Change is bad...we fear change." I can't even w/that binder though. Honestly, have they never used binders before? Painted Petals was also my favorite and the Woven Wonder was ok....didn't love it, didn't hate it, I liked it well enough, it was fine. But I love this kaleidoscope more and more every time I see it, even more than the painted petals. And I've gotten over the whole sticker pages having a lot of gold in them. I'm really not a HUGE sticker user, though I do use some for functional purposes. Having said that, I'm still going to have to get the neutral stickers too (assuming you can buy them separately...hope so). I've also gotten over the color-shading in the various boxes...I can live w/that and I do like that the color shade matches the monthly color.

It's not obvious if you are new to Erin Condren:) No worries at all! They are weekly planners but Erin Condren calls them her Life Planner. Hope that helps:)

Does the binder stay closed? I’ve seen a lot of videos saying the binder doesn’t stay closed. As a lefty the binder seems tempting.

Mine stays shut as good as any binder would. I only have 12 months in my binder. It comes with 18 months in the binder, but that's a tight fit if your going to add any stickers and bulk it up;) I hope that helps....

I wish the binder was more portable. I brought spiral 18 month colorful horizontal for home/studies during Insider release and a lot of accessories. I use hardbound planner for work. I hope she keeps them. This is my 4 year with EC. I used Filofax prior.

I really really dislike the box. Erin Condren discontinued the plastic pouch that I keep in my planner and put movie tickets, concert tickets, museum tickets, etc. in there throughout the year. The box will be thrown away as soon as I get it so it’s a waste to me. For the $5 price increase, the plastic pouch should still be included along with the box that the planner comes in. But to remove the pouch and have the box with a $5 charge when some will throw the box away isn’t justified in my opinion. A bit of a rant, but for the price and the quality of the box and no pouch, as a consumer I don’t get it. I liked the video, it was relaxing to watch.

Hi Lexi;) There actually was not a price increase this year. People got confused on that and many youtubers reported in their videos that their was one. I agree that I loved the pouch. I just bought 2 more at launch on her site....so they might still have some left if you wanted to stock up. I take the customer survey that EC sends out each year, bc they really do listen to their customers and try to do what the majority wants. I will be giving my opinion on the box and the pouch in the survey this year;)

Companies like this are missing out on a lot of sales. They need to come out with some gender neutral, or more geared to men. On the outside and the inside. I have been thinking about trying a planner for my life. But her styles have not been something I would want to try. There are the new binder ones. But not sure I would want something that rigid.

They actually have a new line that came out in the Fall called the Focused Collection and it is exactly that! It's a planner for any gender in a bound design. I have them, but I shared them in an IGTV Review on my Instagram simply bc I only do one video a week and sometimes new products just don't fit into my schedule here on KZbin. I think you might love this Focused Collection:)
