I love your videos. I had an antique store for 20 years and then sold my buildings. I now have 2 booths in an antique mall 45 min from me. I am also currently going thru my bins of stuff and tossing,donating and categorizing items for the booths. I know people have NO idea how much time and work goes into this business. I am trying not to spend more money on inventory until I get rid of my excess,like you. It is difficult . Please keep being real. It puts a smile on my face every time I see you!

I retired from the military after 25 years and found myself unable to work. I decided to get a booth and you are correct it is work and many don’t realize the work that goes into it. My family gives me such a hard time about this newly found hobby. They feel I should get a ‘real’ job😂 if only they knew.

I own a vintage clothing and home decor ecom and it's amazing how many people opine about getting a "real job" they literally have no idea how much work this all is. And as long as it is paying the bills, why do they care?

Re. Book Slide - Having investigated previously, prices are consistently high for ones like yours. Think value lies in the adjustability and the brass detail is particularly pretty, which suspect indicates older, better quality example. Modern ones are "just not built the same!" The mirror is gorgeous and the hail stones are astonishing?! Wow! You really have adventures! So glad both you and your sister are faring well at the booth, in difficult times. I was cracking up laughing at your story about snatching your cat. And those hailstones! Yikes 😳! Love how you share all the pictures and prices of your inventory and yes…I’m a bibliophile…that bookend was unique but not four hundred dollar unique. When buying bookends I stay in the 35-45 dollar range. I have an art deco set I paid $50. I think your pricing is spot on (from a buyer’s point of view) Thanks for the quality (& funny) content!

Yes, they were trying to scam you. I've listed something on Marketplace and 3 people tried doing the same to me. Almost insisted that I give them my numbers, because they claim they wanted to pay for it and send someone else to pick it up. No, scam!

You might want to have your roof checked for hail damage. Sometimes it’s not obvious unless a professional gets up there and inspects. The roof on my house was replaced several years ago because of hail like that, and there were dozens of areas where it had damaged the shingles, which I couldn’t see from the ground.

I sell quite a bit of furniture on FB marketplace and from time to time I get scammers asking for my phone number. That's good that you didn't give it out. They don't need your number. Most people on FB are legit...you just have to be careful of the few who aren't. Btw, I love your channel. You have an amazing eye for home decor!!

Most Dishwasher detergent have bleach in them and can compromise color, structure and metal finishes..that's why you wash them by hand to protect these vintage items 😊

Have implemented two strategies..... Categorizing merchandise then taking at least 10 items in a week.. 😮 this really helps my brain not be overwhelmed!!! I'm off to shop number one today with maybe item!! Thanks a million for those strategies!!!!

I have a booth at an Antique mall as well. I always list my larger items on FBMP. However I get a lot of scammers on there and it only seems like it is getting worse. However I do what you did. I just say all items must be purchased threw the antique mall, then I add the mall’s information. If they are for real they will go to the mall or call the mall for more information. Usually this leads to a no response. I also put in every listing I post the malls info. And kindly ask them to come into the mall, or contact the mall for more information. The scamming is so sad. However the true people who are legit make it worth while to continue to post to FBMP. I have two booths at my center. 1 is more home goods and the other is clothing. I kill it on the clothing. I think you are totally right about the younger generation. Great video as always.

I had that exact same spiral lamp! Loved it. I had it so long and used it so much it became very brittle and the individual spiral pieces started to shatter. So sad.

I lived all kinds of places--tornadoes in Kansas and hurricanes in Florida! Blizzards in Wyoming! I take warnings seriously, too. And where am I now? In a 2-story log house without a basement but with a metal roof smack dab in the middle of meadows In the country just waiting for a lightening strike and/or a fire! Nervous! And where I am they set off the sirens at noon and in the evening and it is the same siren sound that always served as a warning siren everywhere else I've lived. Ha!

I've gotten the same scam every time I put anything on Facebook Marketplace. I had 45 people try to purchase an item I was selling who didn't even live in the United States. It's sad but I've stopped selling on Marketplace.

Some people either need Saturday to catch up at home, after working 5 straight days (laundry, food, gas, etc.), OR, they literally have to work Saturdays. Thus, Amanda, the Sunday Sale Day. The U.S. really should switch to a 4-day work week, and, SIMULTANEOUSLY (very important), a 4-day school week. That would free up Friday, Saturday, and would leave Sunday to actually rest and, maybe even observe the Sabbath. It used to be a healthful habit. Would still be, maybe even more so these days.
