You know what we need? A trend of grey mascara. It’s just as soft as brown and neutral. I think I’d love a grey now that I’ve grown out my silver hair. I’d like to see more grey options for brows and lashes.

Yes to grey mascara, and how about cool tones in general? Not everyone has a warm undertone. Like the idea of celebrating one’s natural brow shape, thickness, shade, I would love to return to celebrating one’s unique beauty and features.

Let's be honest, for last ten years Korea is used as world's beauty testing ground. Tiny korean companies develop and invest in research while bosses from Loreal are watching. Everything that does well there can be expected to appear on western shelves in a year or two...lip tints, BB and CC creams, sheet masks, cushion products, hyaluronic acids, squalene, purple blushes etc.

I have cut back my beauty budget by 80% this year. I have my skin care and make up routine optimized enough that I am not going to try anything new. I set up a goal to try one or two new products at the end of the year buying only on sale.

Same. Most of my makeup products are older. I am slowly decluttering what becomes too old to use (expired) and slowly trying to use up what I have. I really want to minimize my makeup. Also knowing my seasonal colors saves me from buying products I am not going to use anyways.

Good take on the trends. I will be sticking to my cream foundations and blushes as I am 62 with dry skin and fine lines starting around my upper lip and around my eyes. Powders are great for you you get crowd, I only use powder to set my concealer under my eyes because every brand of powders I have used for my entire face cause a lot of irritation and causes my foundation to dry and crack, which is fine with me because I love the light dewy look vs a set, matte finish all over my face. Matte shadows, brown mascara and liner will stick around for those who love the no make up makeup look. I agree about the brows, let the natural shape happen, the same brow look on all ages is kind of off putting- stop the stenciled sameness and allow YOU to come through. Tinted lip balms or glosses are beautiful. The one trend I would LOVE to see disappear is the false eyelashes that are too full and long, or where they hit the top of your eyebrows- just stop that insanity! Get just enough fake lash placement to make your lashes look thicker a la natural vs the multiple spider legs on your eyes (my 17-26 year old grandsons say those lashes are turn offs when it comes to dating).

@faithstea
@faithstea 2 күн бұрын
I'm so excited for this. I started buying the Colourpop single pans back in 2021 because it just became so much easier for me to transport and use. I realized I don't buy palettes as much anymore because I'm always searching for color shifting shades in those palettes, haha, so might as well just get the color itself. I hope that I will still be able to buy them if they get even more popular!
@Eff_It
@Eff_It 14 күн бұрын
We should be telling people that anything can be a "one and done" eyeshadow, and that they don't have to buy single shades to do it. We can use what's in the palettes we own and just use one shade. We don't have to use all the shades at once just because they're there. They can be a collection of single shades. Single shades purchased alone are usually overpriced then are given a special category of "one and done" for no real reason other than marketing.

One thing I really think is amazing from asian beauty that people haven't YET discovered (that I really want to blow up in 2025 ) is magnetic lashes - specifically from the cbeauty brand Wosado. If we're talking about people trying to simplify their routine, these literally look so natural and you don't even need to curl your lashes - you just clamp them on and they come right off. I feel like if more people knew about them they'd would be SO popular, literally a revolutionary product ngl!

@@kat321go I would have to do more research about them. I have clinical dry eye issues and it’s not recommended for me to get lashes “permed” or chemically treated to lengthen + volumize. Also, faux lashes with the glue and all of that seems like it might be quite irritating, too. I have short, straight lashers and it seems not much is out there for lengthening them with my clinical dry eye issues at present.

I for one am eagerly waiting for the comeback of matte base, as a dry skin girl, here in the deep of Canadian winter lol. It’s just. Matte is so functional. People always talk how dewy makeup doesn’t last in the summer, which is honestly fixable. But hear me out, do not wear lipgloss at negative twenty Celsius your lips will freeze. Anything not matte and completely set down is a hassle with all the winter gears I wear.

Honestly dewy makeup is practical only for pics. If it’s hot it won’t last as it’ll melt down and if it’s cold you wear scarf and a hair so it won’t last either. I love dewy and have bourgeois healthy mix for it , but I end up putting powder so it lasts when touched by my scarf 😂

Amanda, I agree with you on every front. I think big makeup palettes overwhelmed the average consumer. I’m still a fan. I think people are facing so many challenges in their day to day life that they are looking for more uniform products that take the guess work out, but really deliver on the benefits in terms of protecting skin and being multi purpose. I feel like the last decade was the general public being introduced via social media to what is possible with makeup, the cut creases, big false lashes and contouring/highlighting to reach the gods. I think the next decade will be about pairing down what we’ve learned and being more discerning. Love your content. Big Hugs. I think you are going to have huge growth in your channel this year because I think you’ve been moving slightly ahead of the curve instinctually. You just know what you like and that gives others the strength to really decide what truly makes them happy with their choices. With much respect, Tanya

Absolutely loving it in this heat 👌 Would love to hear your thoughts on the MUFE cream palettes. I think they're really more for MUAs because there's no way I'd be able to use all those shades with my pale yellow skin tone. That eyeshadow is stunning. I finally got my hands on Serpens (we can't get it anymore in Australia) and I'm SO excited to wear it. I'm also really hoping you're right about one and done eyeshadows! I rarely wear more than one or two colours. Waiting for the day you release your own line of them hehe I have been loving the Cosnori Perfect Setting mascara in the rose brown shade. Beautiful colour and holds a curl on my straight lashes so well that I wear it as a base when I want to wear black mascara too! (I will buy the black version soon) I find all brown mascaras in Aus to be almost black, rather than a light chocolatey brown.

I have always (for decades now) wanted easy multitasking skin-friendly easy-to-wear products and I continuously find it fascinating that either there's not enough market demand for that to be a primary focus or, in fact, brand choices aren't driven as much by market demand as all that. I'm very excited about the possibility of skin-supportive primers & setting sprays! And I expect a lot of my other choices will continue to be as out of step with the current trends as ever, but maybe I'll be lucky and this year the trends will actually line up to suit me. It's always nice when that happens! Actually-natural brows would be a lovely trend! I love a makeup goal which isn't all about CHANGING yourself to match some theoretical ideal. Harder to monetize, but much more functional and also more INTERESTING, imo! [Edited to be less grouchy (at the beauty industry) after a nap, sorry about that]

Loving the idea of using concealer all over face only concealer I’ve been using is the quickie from urban decay-looks great under eyes but most days I just use color corrector. Love to see more lighter blush shades but something that is suited for all skin tones. A lot of Asian beauty mostly suited for very fair skin tones. I do miss all the single shadows-hoping to see more brands have quality shadows that’s not just glitter.

Why would you want to use concealer all over face? How is that easier than foundation. Also concealers have been around since day 1, so nothing is stopping you from using them instead

Would love to see a video this year about your brow make-up routine with up-close shots of how you apply different types of products (pencil, gel, etc). You can include ways to enhance your natural brow to start the trend!

If there are more Asian-inspired blushes coming out, I PRAY for good yellow and orange (yellow-leaning) blushes! Those are some of the most flattering on my skin. I currently use a yellow eyeshadow and it looks great, but I think that a yellow balmy blush (like one of merit's) would look so lovely, especially doing a gradient with red and/or orange. I would also love to see more cushion foundations come out now that brands like tirtir have become popular. I haven't worn a cushion foundation in a long time, but I remember them being more comfortable than liquid foundations. I wish Wet 'n' Wild still carried theirs. I loved that foundation until it expired :'( I know I could just buy asian cushion foundations online, but I prefer to swatch in store so I can shade match. I love colored mascara, too, especially brown or plum. Like someone else said, I'd love to see grey mascara as well! And like they said, more brands need to make grey brow products as well. Benefit is the only one I can think of off the top of my head. I dyed my hair silver once, and none of my brown brow products looked good with it.

Thank you ❤ I think there are so many Asian beauty trends surfacing because so much makeup is manufactured in Asia. I also think we don’t have great sunscreen made in the West. I also love the lower costs associated with first rate skincare and beauty products.

I REALLY hope for the single eyeshadow thing being true. Whilst I love eyeshadow palettes with fashion colours, for everyday wear I find it really hard to find palettes I really like cos I usually never like half of the colours. Most natural palettes are super warm or muted which are both looks I don't really gravitate towards. I'd love more brands to release more single eyeshadows cos right now there are not many in stores.

I love one and done looks. Single eye shadow looks for mature eyes. I am 57, and still use eye liner and shadow. I wear glasses and would like an easier way to put it on (liner and one cream shadow) without spending so much time tearing. (Maybe it's my eyesight). Can you do a video for clean makeup for the sight impaired? I have a hard time seeing far away. Also have hooded eyelids. How to make a winged eyelid with hooded eyes and a cream shadow?

At 67, I'm only using RMS blush and Hourglass Ambient blushes and powders- even with dry skin. Sometimes Merit blush balm. I loved Urban Decay powder blushes, but they disco them for who knows why. It was a great blush with great colors.

I so agree with you on pinpoint concealer - been doing it since around 2021! I currently have a pencil concealer from the Saem and it’s a GAMECHANGER!! I use it for blemishes and its instantly dry, medium-high coverage and staying power are great for small little touch-ups. It also works better than any classic concealer I have tried to pile on an acne scar in the past; I do use a different, liquid concealer for the undereyes. It keeps them natural, yet brightened, and its serumy consistency doesn’t tug on my undereyes like a stiff pencil does. Sometimes more of the same product is good. Especially for different outcomes (covering blemishes vs brightening underyes). And my makeup looks better than ever before 🥰

Liner with gloss has never not been in for Black people. That’s something we’ve been doing. It’s just interesting to see it become a larger trend with everyone else. But I also don’t see a lot of acknowledgment of that.

I've never worn liquid foundation. Could never get one to match. Never covered what I needed, too much coverage where its not needed. Usually just spot conceal and use a light layer of powder foundation to mesh the colors together.

Lancome Teint Idole ultrawear all over. Launched a few years ago? Only thing I have used for years. Loves dry skin, loves the undereyes, barely detectable with very good cover. Mascara sized foundation in my carry-on on long haul transpacific journey for 6 weeks? life changing.

9:36 even though you’re not supposed to keep them so long, but I promise everybody has a solid rotations of 3-4 palette with every baseline color they’d use, so these unique one off finishes are really all you need to buy without repeating the insane palette collection of the 2010s

Concealer as foundation would look horrible on anyone over 40. I've seen bigger trends like mineral powder foundation give way to the bottles. Nothing temps a makeup lover more than a foundation bottle, a new and cool-looking one. Sells out instantly because of the bottle.

Really enjoyable video thanks! I used my Kosas concealer instead of foundation for most of last year and loved the more natural look (I mainly put it on the centre of the face then just blended it out) but at a certain point I thought: maybe I just need to find a foundation that has this finish and apply it in the same places (I've got the Kosas foundation but I find the texture a bit thick and the shade is not quite as good a match). Am thinking of trying the Glossier stretch foundation instead🤔 Re blush, Saie chilly was hands down my favourite makeup purchase of last year with that beautiful dewy finish (really excellent shade for fair, cool skin tones too). Having used it so much though I understand the swing towards something a bit more matte. Your other videos have tempted me to have a look at the Gucci powder cheek products. I do think some of the movements towards and away from textures depend on the seasons though and matte appeals more in the winter and glowy products in the summer. It's nice to mix it up anyway! 😊

I think trends are a good chance to try new makeup ideas and see if they work for you. If they don't, people will think you're just doing the trend 🤷‍♀️ I love eye makeup (not good at eyeliner tho 🥲), and even though I have rosacea and occasional acne, I do like minimal face makeup. I have super oily skin, and liquid products melt off in 4 hours. So I lightly color correct and apply a light layer of powder foundation. I personally like my brow shape, my brow hairs are just light. A tinted brow gel or just drawing lightly to my actual brows is all I do.

Also, I thought about it’s not so much people are gonna be relying on SPF setting spray for their sun protection. I think it’s more going towards the layering the sun protection type of thing because of the suns Ray is being stronger and stuff like that so I think the purpose behind that is so it encourages people to layer their sun protection so then the morning they put on their SPF moisturizer then maybe they would have an SPF Blush or powder all over their face then they would set their Makeup with an SPF setting spray so you see that there’s multiple layers of sun protection and then you can also freshen your sun protection throughout the day a little bit easier because you have to reapply sun protection every two hours for it to be effective at all so having the products that do multiple thingsagain is the trend in all areas of the beauty
