I think for your fair skin, light hair and green eyes the brown mascara will look great and less harsh than black! I'm a little iffy on it myself because I have very dark brown hair, thick dark eyebrows and dark brown eyes, my lashes are naturally black. I might try a very dark brown like chocolate or chestnut, but the true medium brown mascara is not for me.

I REALLY like your content! It feels so down2earth/relatable, like makeup loving friends having a chat. So glad I’ve discovered ya :) I have similar coloring fair/light skin, green eyes with a neutral olive undertone. I’m a fan of Mac mattes they are SO buildable and just easy to use, also great neutral colors which I’m all about. Mac face & body (studio radiance or whatever they’ve renamed it ) is my ride or die, I bought SO many backups when I thought she was going away. The formula is so unique and just wears really well for such a sheer foundation. I’m also loyal to Fix Plus, nothing seems to compare. I agree with you on most of these, I’m a child of the 90s and cut my teeth on a black Smokey eye …omg I wore it way past the time it was trendy too…I’ve had enough black Smokey eyes to last a lifetime.

Neither of you are fair lol. I'm fair, and if you're her shade, you both can get away with the "light" range, but there's no way you can understand fair skin struggles lol. I'm a fair neutral olive, the About Face lightest olive shade is even a tad dark for me.

I think your foundation color is a little light unless it oxidizes a bit after awhile😊
@nikkibarnes-beauty20 күн бұрын
You may be right on the color - it’s tough to find my shade, in real life I have olive undertones and light skin (which only a few lines include in their shade range) which is why I usually have a contour stick on hand!! I LOVE that foundation stick but Dior does lack on the ranges. ILIA has the best shade for me in stick form though. ❤️

@@nikkibarnes-beauty I agree that it’s too light and maybe a bit too yellow for you? When you blend it out it doesn’t look bad, though! I hear it’s really hard to find fair olive shades! Maybe you could try the blue L.A. Girl Foundation Mixing Pigment, mixing the blue with a yellow foundation should create a more olive tone? Mixing it with a neutral foundation would just make it cool toned. Also, applying stick foundation straight to your face looks hard to blend, I could see the lines you drew for a long time. Most makeup artists recommend putting the product on the back of your hand and then applying it to your face with a brush, I think that would really help make your skintone look more even with stick foundations. Overall I really liked your video and approach to makeup! I don’t mean to criticise, just wanted to help :)
@nikkibarnes-beauty8 күн бұрын
@JasminMiettunen Those are great tips!! I'll have to check out the blue pigment and I LOVE the idea of not putting the foundation directly on my face. I usually do that with my stick blushes - I never thought to do that with the foundation!

Lol😅 I've always worn what looks good on me. I love the Fenty matte, but ever since my skin got drier I mix it. I never contoured. It doesn't look good on me imo. I've always worn blush. It looks good. I hope whoever is watching does fads just for fun, and I hope you're not running out and buying new products. Do what looks nice on you ❤ Shop your stash. I'd love to see more about HOW to blend better. I feel like I end up wiping the makeup off entirely or where I applied it originally is still very evident. What is the secret to blending and not losing the dimension or it not looking blended?

On my dry skin glowy foundation doesn’t stay glowy for very long, so the more matte look, although I don’t particularly like it, is what I end up with usually.

That is why I have been addicted to the Urban Decay spray-I live in a dry climate with my dry skin. I found some good foundations for glowing skin this year but that spray makes everything better. ❤️

I’m also 45 and have been looking for more middle aged creators to follow 🎉. I personally don’t like trends. Like, who dictates this stuff? Who tells us what’s in or fashionable. I don’t know them lol. I have no plans to stop my glowy skin or blush or anything else that I like. If I want to wear powder I will but if not, I won’t. Where what you like!!

9:35 why do people contour their nose & then put concealer/highlight down the middle of the nose. Doesn’t highlighter draw more attention & make things look larger again. I don’t know that drives me crazy. Btw it’s not just you. Just expressing. I liked the fact that you have dry skin because I’m 61, but all my life I’ve had extremely dry skin. But I’m not gonna buy expensive products. Sorry.
@nikkibarnes-beautyАй бұрын
Hello and welcome! By highlighting the middle and shading the sides, I am narrowing my nose. Some of my favorite dry skin essentials are fairly budget friendly…medicube has some awesome k beauty skincare, Fenty stick foundation (got on sale for 20ish dollars) and of course anything from CereVe is amazing. What products are you using? Have you found any dry skin essentials you like?
@JasminMiettunen8 күн бұрын
Highlighter or contour all over the nose would make the whole nose bigger and flatter, you're trying to create shape and shadows with contour and highlight. Think about it, when you contour the sides, the middle looks lighter, right? So adding highlighter in the middle makes the middle look even lighter! If you have a big nose from the side, the highlight in the middle might not be a good idea, but if you have a wide nose, the line of highlighter helps with that. It depends on your nose shape and how you want to shape it.
