I caught the live show four times in NYC and appear in the closing credits of the film as the last person to hold the iconic golden brick shortly after the final performance. And I am in the middle of reading "Amoralman." I cannot recommend "In & Of Itself" more highly. The transformative stage play has transformed magnificently to film, thanks to Derek and director Frank Oz.

I LOVE this man! He is death-defyingly authentic. His being resonates with me on an extradimensional level. A movie will be made based on this book. He is the embodiment of the phrase, a life less ordinary.

Just ordered the book. Still revisiting and in awe of Derek's conception of an "existential crisis"

If you haven’t seen his film, In and of Itself, it’s on Hulu, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. The less you know about it going into it, the better, but it’s a significant, and still highly entertaining show about the illusion of identity that may offer you things to think about.

Yeah, I find it almost impossible to explain to someone anyway! haha.. So you can try to prepare someone, but you absolutely can't! :-)

What could have been a better performance was dissolved in emotional trickery. Impressive work with the cards but not half as impressive with the performance overall. The Rouletista missed the part where God sees us for who we are, even our most secret selves...and even moreso than we see in ourselves. The devil can too but can lead us to think that his definition is all we are. The performance of In and Of Itself is poignant but misses the element of a recognition that one is recognized by the Monad. It taps into what that Monad is but seems to overlook the recognition of one as their own Monad. I like his work but it is quite limited and could be all the more beautiful. His work could easily implement a Mahayana Buddhist sense of a Bodhisattva. I hope he grows to develop the show into that much more.

I have reported the two earlier "comments" here. They are click-throughs for porno services.

Very interesting. I'd like to read the book and watch the movie. More spending money on monthly charges. None are extreme in cost but they do add up.

I’ve known a few slight of hand artists over the years, the one thing they all have in common, their all egotistical an by getting away with their deception, it makes them feel superior, an even when they know, you know what they did, they often deny doing or accepting that they did anything wrong, “the art of the deal”, innocent until proven guilty, without proof, which in time it becomes like second nature, to change is like trying to stop something your addicted to, like Drugs, often they just trade one type of addition that’s illegal, for another that’s legal, Amoral or A moral, is not for anyone to decide but yourself and how you want others to see you, which may be your greatest trick of all.....
