@@jamesm5192 sure you can taste it while it's decanting. that way you can compare the difference. If the wine is fuller, more aromatic, you've got a winner. If it falls apart, it's probably not that great. Also consider where the wine was stored if it's really really poor.

@@GladiatorWineTV Can't really tell how it has been stored when buying in various shops and you can't speak the language, eh? Definitely will look out for a copious supply of Amarone. It is psychedelic!

@@GladiatorWineTV Just tried Ripasso. So thin in comparison. I actually prefer chianti. Still haven't found anything that rivals Amarone except some very expensive stuff and a mineral rich French wine... Tho they weren't as deep and dark as Amarone.

While it is expensive. It’s still the best wine for the money…. Look for one that’s at least 5 years old and it really will be the only wine you’ll ever want to buy. Barolo, amarone, and primativo all I buy. Mostly amarone….
