That “because I said so” line without explaining things that parents pull is the reason why black kids end up going down the wrong root. Things need to be explained, I don’t get depriving your kid of an experience “just coz”. That’s not a loving thing to do.

That’s one of reasons we struggle in school. Things are not explained to us via deductive reasoning. Instead, we are just shouted and told “because I said so”. This way of parenting doesn’t teach a child how to think or even challenge a statement/fact. Instead, it teaches a child to be intellectually lazy.
