Oh how beautiful those will be in their containers! Just wanted to add a helpful "staking" hint, hopefully. I use "porcelain doll stands", by sliding the foot plate under the pot from the back. Most of them are "height adjustable", so they can "grow" with the blooms. Hope this helps someone. Great vlog. See you tomorrow and God bless.

@@Bamboo4U2 Thank you. They have worked out great for me, but I will admit the idea began with me using about 4 of them with a "wild and unruly" cactus I had yrs ago. Some of them I had to remove their base and stick inside the pot. Great find. Thanks again and God bless.

I taught preschool for many years. I loved planting amaryllis in the classroom. The children always enjoyed watching them grow. These bulbs were one of my favorite teacher gifts to receive too!

Oh fun, what a great idea! If I had been a student of yours, I would have loved that! I was born with gardening gloves on, haha

As a 2nd grade teacher, an amaryllis bulb was a fantastic classroom gift. I put a homemade yardstick (marked off inches and colored in every other inch for easy measuring) in the pot next to the amaryllis and made a bar graph to record growth. The students would race to look at the plant each morning to see how much the plant grew. Then they would look again just before they left at the end of the school day. It was so fun to see that it often grew as much as an inch just during the day. The students and I were constantly amazed. Other staff members often came to visit and enjoy the miracle of Mother Nature. I looked forward to doing this activity every fall (or sometimes early spring), depending on when we worked on our measurement math unit.

I have an amaryllis planter I've had for about 7-8 years with 3 huge bulbs in it, planted in rock. I put it in the garage around the end of summer to get the leaves to die back, and bring it back out about 6-8 weeks later. During the year I give it liquid Espoma fertilizer for indoor plants & it always gives me huge red blooms and beautiful leaves. Some years I get a couple stalks from one bulb, others all 3 three bloom. Just got a pink & white one in a kit last year as a gift, it's in soil, so we will see how it comes back.
