Great video, thanks for sharing. I am attending the RV Radio Network rally starting tomorrow, and was looking for some videos about it - yours came up with a few others. I hope to catch up with you at Hamvention some day. 73 de KC5HWB

Stumbled upon this video while researched RV awnings! I’ve long remembered with appreciation the ham radio operators who in 1974 patched calls between Egypt, where I was stationed as one of a thousand Canadian soldiers on UN peacekeeping duty, back to our families at bases all across the country. Without those patches we wouldn’t have had the close contact with our families that was so important to our morale. Those ham radio operators were special people.

I was a MARS station operator state side and overseas. Military Affiliate Radio Station. It was such a joy to help people contact loved ones. Pretty cool you were a recipient 😊

Great video Mike! I'm getting ready to move into an RV soon and amateur radio is going to be a part of it. I looked you up on QRZ and saw that you are from Kalamazoo Michigan. I have family in Portage and friends in Kalamazoo. I just attended the Crossroads Hamfest in Kzoo recently. I talk to a lot of guys in Michigan, maybe we have made contact in the past. 73 Jim K9KXW

As a Net Controller for the Pacific Section of the International RV Service Net, I highly suggest having access to Ham Radio as you travel in your RV. Personally, I don't rely on QRP.

Mike AWESOME Video ( as usual !! ) ... I'm fixing up my shack and "NEED" one of those callsign "tents" for my microphone .. where did you pick yours up ? Love the style .. Thanks for all you guys do .. we are RVers as well and am slowly transitioning my shack to being more POTA, SOTA based .. but your insights continue to be so informative !!

Thanks Mike! Like you, I've been interested in Ham Radio since I was a kid, but have never bothered to take the tests. I'm in the Broadcasting field as a Satellite Uplink Engineer transmitting National football games and breaking news all around the world. I'm looking forward to my Part Time RV days and Ham Radio might become part of it. I've got plenty of experience with RF, Encoders and modulators that I could adapt and apply to this retirement hobby. Thanks for sharing that there is a specific group of Hams out there for the RV enthusiast.

My friend had a radio in his house and his wife got leukemia. I then found out that there’s high incidence of this disease and a few others because there’s so much power coming from those sets.

Simply not true. ALL ham radio frequencies are non-ionizing and you cannot get cancer or any other "disease" from it.
